    • Teja is an Indian film director. He directed many blockbusters such as Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu, Jayam, and Nijam. Teja made a slam bang entry into Tollywood with a string of blockbusters. In the year 2000, Teja changed the face of Telugu cinema with his revolutionary film Chitram.

      Teja was born in Madras, Tamil Nadu into one of the richest of business families in India. Due to the unfortunate demise of both his parents, Teja ran away from home and did all sorts of odd jobs to finally stumble upon the TV industry. He did many assignments for documentaries presented in National Geographic Channel. He later worked with Ram Gopal Varma on films like Shiva (Telugu), Kshana Kshanam, Rangeela etc. He made his cinematographry debut with Raat/Raathri. Teja once in conversation with Ramoji Rao said it was possible to shoot an entire film in Ramoji Film City with a very small budget. The film, Chitram, became a huge hit and revolutionized Telugu cinema. After this there was no turning back, Teja directed super hits such as Family circus, Nuvvu Nenu, etc. In the year 2002, Teja set up his own Production company, Chitrammovies and produced/directed Jayam. Jayam is one of the biggest hits of Telugu cinema and grossed Rupees 32 crore. Later Teja directed Nijam starring Super star Mahesh Babu. Teja is known to encourage new talent. He introduced many of today's superstars such as Kajal Agarwal, Nithin Reddy, Navadeep, Ileana Dcruz, Sunil etc.
