- In 1981, during an Italian promotional tour for Raging Bull (1980), Robert De Niro saw Paola in an episode of the mini-series La felicità (1981). Impressed by her beauty and talent, he suggested her to try her luck in Hollywood by auditioning for a role, but the offer led to no developments.

She achieved great popularity in Italy as co-host of the quiz-show "Colpo di Fortuna" where she sang the opening credits as well as frequently performing musical numbers inside the episodes.
