- Biological father was a German soldier in German occupied Denmark. She wrote a book about it: "Det sku' nødig hedde sig."
- In the summer of 1965, the photographer Werner Bokelberg brought her to Salvador Dalí's estate in Port Lligat for a photo series, after which Dalí worshiped her as his muse "Ginesta Ophelia".

- In 1972 she received a "Bodil" (=Bodil Awards are the major Danish film awards given by the Danish Film Critics Association) for best actress in 'Farlige kys'.
- In her later years, Lotte Tarp concentrated more on writing books, plays and screenplays, including writing the play Amagertorv 4 in the 1980s. From 1990 to 1992 she trained as a screenwriter at the Danish Film School. Her final thesis was the script for the television film Længe leve friheden (1993).
