Terrance Sweeney
Terrance A. Sweeney is a five-time Emmy Award winning producer. He has served as Executive Director and Trustee of the Humanitas Prize, Senior Vice President of Paulist Productions, and President of Michael Media, Inc. He holds an M.A. in Communication Arts from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. in Theology and Film from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California.

Sweeney has authored four books, including the top-ten national best-seller, What God Hath Joined, which he co-authored with his wife, Pamela Shoop Sweeney. His Emmy Award winning documentary, Streets Of Anger, Streets Of Hope, helped to substantially reduce murders in East Los Angeles at a time when the city had the highest gang-related homicide ratio in the United States.

Three of Sweeney's Emmys were awarded for his work as Producer of the television series, "Insight" which was broadcast on more than 220 stations in the U.S. and in 17 foreign countries. He was awarded another Emmy for producing The Juggler Of Notre Dame. His writing credits include Loser Take All, The Promise, and My Main Man - each of which was honored with a Cine Golden Eagle Award. His first "Insight" script, Clown Of Freedom, starred Martin Sheen. Sweeney's first documentary script garnered him an Emmy nomination for writing and an Emmy Award for Producing. This documentary explored the primary causes of gang violence, and proposed some of the best ways to prevent it. Other writing credits include The Prodigal Father, I Want To Die, and Billy's Mime, a first prize winner at the New York International Film and Television Festival.

In all, Sweeney has worked as a producer, writer, or consultant on more than 50 films and television programs, including "The Thorn Birds," "Romero," "The Day Christ Died," and Hanna-Barbera's "Greatest Adventure Series" on the Bible.
