Josef Svoboda(1920-2002)

Josef Svoboda was born on 10 May 1920 in Caslav, Czechoslovakia. He was a production designer and director, known for Amadeus (1984), Laterna Magika: Puzzles (1996) and Laterna Magika: Trap (1999). He was married to Libuse Hrubesova. He died on 8 April 2002 in Prague, Czech Republic.

He was the chief scenic designer for the revue, "Magic Lantern", from Czechoslovakia at the Saville Theatre in London, England with Irena Kacírková and Sylva Danícková in the cast. 'Alfred Radok', Jan Rohac, Milos Forman, Vladimír Svitácek and Wendy Toye were the directors. Zdenek Mahler was the artistic director.
