One aspect of the Power Rangers franchise that has kept fans invested for many years is the emphasis on legacy. From Mighty Morphin’, the series has followed a mostly singular timeline, with each series taking place in the same continuity as the previous. With this lengthy history, there is always the possibility of past Rangers coming back, whether in team-up episodes, or in anniversary specials.

With the release of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always in 2023, fans have gotten to see a past Ranger team return for an all-new adventure. With the success of Once & Always among the fandom, many have begun wondering what other entries in the...

December 6 Will Be a Great Day for Power Rangers Fans
Image
Power Rangers fans have a lot to look forward to, given the amount of franchise content hitting several platforms next month. One such piece of content is the highly underrated 2017 Saban's Power Rangers Lionsgate movie, which hits Peacock on December 6.

Power Rangers, which franchise creator Haim Saban returned to produce, follows a group of teenagers who gain newfound powers they must use to protect Earth from an ancient reawakened threat. The Saban's Power Rangers reboot, which was the third franchise film installment, loosely adapted the pilot episode of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series "Day of the Dumpster." The movie stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason Scott/The Red Ranger, Rj Cyler as Billy Cranston/The Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart/The Pink Ranger, Becky G as Trini Kwan/The Yellow Ranger, and Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor/The Black Ranger. Bryan Cranston plays Zordon, while Elizabeth Banks portrays the team's nemesis,...

The Best Fighters in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Ranked
Image
Nearly every hero in Power Rangers is a skilled martial artist. As the only people capable of fending off the countless evil forces that inhabit their multiverse, being able to fight is a mandatory skill. And while no team of Rangers is without talent, the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are among the most disciplined and the best trained.

All 10 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers rank among the best fighters in the series. Some have studied martial arts for their entire lives, while others translate their backgrounds as dancers, divers, or gymnasts into combat. Those who remained Rangers the longest also grew exponentially through their continued experience battling against Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd.

Amy Jo Johnsons Return As Kimberly In Power Rangers Was Not What I Expected After The Pink Rangers Departure
Image
Amy Jo Johnson reprised her role as Kimberly in Power Rangers two years after the original Pink Ranger departed from the team, yet the circumstances of her return were not what I was expecting. Kimberly Hart was one of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and appeared in all three seasons of the original show. However, Kimberly did not remain on the team until the very end of Mmpr 3, as Amy Jo Johnson left the show after the A Different Shade of Pink arc. Kimberly was replaced by Katherine Lillard, played by Catherine Sutherland.

Unlike the exits of Jason, Zack, and Trini from the team, Kimberlys departure was very well handled. Not only did we get to meet Kat a couple of episodes before she became the new Pink Ranger, but Kimberly also got to pass the torch herself to her successor. Kat would go on to build a legacy...

Where Once & Always Fits in the Power Rangers Timeline
Image
The Power Rangers timeline isn't always clear and straightforward. While most seasons are set in the years in which they air, others are set in the future or even parallel universes. Things can be even trickier to understand when there are specials and moves that exist outside the main television series but are still canon.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always has a confusing place in the franchise's timeline. A reunion special featuring many returning actors from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers; some have found it difficult to understand when it's set because of how it ties into Power Rangers Spd, Power Rangers Dino Fury, and Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. Executive Producer Simon Bennett has confirmed when Once & Always is set, but it's also possible to understand simply by paying close attention.

Power Rangers Kimberly Replacement Did The One Thing The Original Pink Ranger Could Not
Image
Kat was the 2nd Pink Ranger and had 3 different sets of powers. Kat was part of three Power Rangers shows. Kimberly's legacy remains unmatched, but Kat was a worthy replacement for the original Pink Ranger.

Katherine Hillard was Power Rangers Kimberly replacement, and she did something that the original Pink Ranger was sadly never able to. Kimberly is one of the greatest Power Rangers of all time, having been part of the original series and defined the concept of Pink Ranger for an entire generation. Although Kimberly left the team before the end of Mmpr, she appeared in all three seasons of the show and returned for one of the movies. That said, Kimberlys Power Rangers history was relatively short compared to other characters, at least in the TV show.

Kimberlys final Power Rangers episode was A Different Shade Of Pink, which marked Amy Jo Johnsons final appearance in the TV show.

Power Rangers Series Dead At Netflix; Hasbro Seeking New Partner With A Different Creative Vision
Image
Following rumors over the weekend, TV Line has confirmed that Hasbro's Power Rangers cinematic universe, which was expected to include both an original television show and new films, that had been in development at Netflix for the past two years is no longer moving forward at the streamer.

X user @Jinsakuu was the first to break the story, before the trade was able to obtain confirmation. In their initial tweet, the online scooper explained, "Due to the lack of staff and all the departments and responsibilities Hasbro had to take on. They’re lisencing Power Rangers Toys and Media off to other companies. As we seen with playmates who now own full control of the toys they’re doing the same with the show rights. Also they’re trying to be as hands off as possible and still own the franchises revenues. So good news maybe ??"

What Happened To The Original Pink Ranger After Mighty Morphin Power Rangers?
Image
Kimberly Hart, played by Amy Jo Johnson, left the Power Rangers team in season 3 to focus on her gymnastics career. Kimberly broke up with Tommy through a letter in Power Rangers Zeo, allowing Tommy to continue on the show without addressing her again. Amy Jo Johnson reprised her role as Kimberly in Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie but never returned to the TV show. However, Kimberly would still appear three more times.

Kimberly Hart, Power Rangers’ original Pink Ranger, exited the team during Mighty Morphin season 3 but continued to play an important role in the show's story. Played by Amy Jo Johnson, Kimberly was one of the original five Power Rangers brought together by Zordon to fight Rita Repulsa. Even though there have been countless Power Rangers characters, the pop culture impact of the original five heroes – six, including Green Ranger Tommy Oliver – cannot be matched.

Power Rangers' Biggest Unfinished Story - Millennium Message Explained
Image
The Power Rangers Turbo series introduced a storyline called The Millennium Message, but it was never followed up on due to changes in the writing staff. The Millennium Message would have revealed a force that could stop the villains, but the audience never got to see who it was. Instead of continuing The Millennium Message plotline, Power Rangers Turbo focused on passing down the titles and powers to a new generation of Rangers.

Despite the fact that the Power Rangers franchise hinted at a major storyline for the crime-fighting teenagers in Power Rangers Turbo, the Millennium Message plot never actually happened, and only for one small, subtle reason. Power Rangers Turbo is a 1997 Power Rangers series that lasted one season and is the fifth installment in the Power Rangers franchise. Despite being a continuation of the franchise, Power Rangers Turbo saw a whole horde of changes, most importantly in relation to the cast.

Power Rangers: Once & Always Leans Into Nostalgia With A Classic Pink Ranger
Image
"Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always" is the anniversary special "Power Rangers" fans have been dreaming about for years. While we've had many special episodes throughout the decades, including massive crossover battles involving most Red Rangers (of the time), or different Rangers teams fighting together, this is the first time the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers team has come back, and for a special that is specifically about them. That is, the franchise's first iteration, before it started adapting a different "Super Sentai" show with an entirely different cast, team, and theme song every season.

"Once & Always" pays homage to fallen Rangers, with a lovely and rather emotional tribute to Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang. Trang's character Trini, in particular, is central to the story of the special, with the death of Trini forever impacting the team, and inspiring her daughter Minh to pick up the mantle of the Yellow Ranger.

The Power Rangers anniversary special Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always confirms what happened to Trini, the original Yellow Ranger. Netflix's Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Reunion Features A Touching Tribute To Fallen Rangers

Power Rangers Once and Always Review: Netflix Doesn’t Just Play the Hits
Image
This Power Rangers: Once and Always review contains spoilers.

Power Rangers: Once and Always, with a brisk hour-long runtime, does the impossible for a nostalgia focused special. It isn’t concerned with playing solely to cheap memories and easy jokes for casual fans, and isn’t obsessed with deep fan lore, either. Its primary focus is instead on just being the next entry in these characters’ lives. It’s doing something new and not just playing the hits.

The special most closely follows Blue Ranger Billy (David Yost) and Black Ranger Zack (Walter Emanuel Jones). We check in on their lives and see them in new situations. After the death of Yellow Ranger Trini, Zack takes on guardianship of her daughter, Minh (Charlie Kersh). It’s a wonderful new side of Zack that still highlights the character’s familiar warmth and charm. His interactions with Minh are the best part of the special,...

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always Review - Nostalgia & Nothing More
Image
For the 30th anniversary of the 1993 series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Netflix's special, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always reunites most of the original cast for an epic battle against their greatest adversary: Rita Repulsa. Zordon is missing, and the rangers are still doing their best to protect the planet from evil forces, even though they are no longer teens with attitude. Trina Kwan’s daughter Minh will join the fight this time because Rita Repulsa’s tactics have turned deadly. This latest nostalgia trip in no way changes the tone or styling to adapt to modern entertainment standards. Once & Always is a direct sequel to the original series. The 1995 film of the same name adopted a more cinematic style to bring the Rangers to the big screen, but Once & Always brings it back to basics. The special effects, clear digital photography, and drone camera is the only notable improvement.

Why Pink Power Ranger Actress Won't Be In Mighty Morphin Reunion
Image
Amy Jo Johnson, the original Pink Ranger, will not be returning for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reunion special. Power Rangers began 30 years ago as a show that follows a band of teenagers with attitude brought together by a mysterious mentor who grants them supersuits, superpowers, and the ability to use giant mechanical robots, called Zords, which can merge together into gigantic biomechanical Megazords. The Rangers are each color-coded, and each color has a specific role within the team with the Red Ranger leading and the other colors having their own unique weapons and purpose.

While Power Rangers has just cast its first full-time female Red Ranger, the franchise hasn't been able to keep all news positive, as Johnson took to Twitter to make it clear that she will not be appearing in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reunion.

For the record I never said no…I just didn’t...

Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Special On Netflix Will Reunite Some Original Mighty Morphin Stars
Image
"Power Rangers" is one of the biggest franchises to come out of the '90s. Based on the Japanese franchise "Super Sentai," the "Power Rangers" series follows a group of teenagers chosen to fight evil with the help of super suits and giant robots that morph together to make an even bigger robot.

When it premiered, the series was the closest '90s kids got to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You got a team of superheroes fighting cartoonish villains by punching the hell out of them, with a more diverse team than even the current MCU has.

Still, no matter how many seasons there are, there is arguably no...
