Wrestling Legend Kevin Sullivan Dies at 74 Following 'Devastating Accident'
Image
The wrestling world is mourning the loss of one of the greatest performers to ever step into the squared circle: Kevin Sullivan. Per WWE, Sullivan passed away at age 74 on Friday, and while his official cause of death has not been revealed at this time, its no secret that he had been suffering from numerous health conditions over the last few months. In May 2024, Sullivan was said to have suffered an undisclosed "devastating accident" in Florida that required surgery to save his leg, and in a GoFundMe campaign set up by his daughter, Nicole, she stated that The Taskmaster faced complications due to the surgery, including "sepsis and encephalitis."

Sullivan began his wrestling career in the early 1970s, wrestling as both a good guy (face) and a bad guy (heel). His first major impact on the business came by way of Championship Wrestling from Florida in the early '80s,...

Prime Video Thriller Series ‘Obsession’ Adds 5 To Cast
Image
Exclusive: Prime Video is rounding out cast for Obsession, a thriller series produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Atomic Monster, starring Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia. Patch Darragh (Long Bright River), Kira Guloien (The Good Doctor), Celeste Oliva (Julia), Jesse James Keitel (Big Sky) and Matt Murray (Snowpiercer) are set for recurring roles, written and executive produced by Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher.

In addition to Cameron and Jogia, they join previously announced Dorian Missick and Karla Souza.

Based on Catherine Ryan Howard’s 2021 international bestseller 56 Days, the story follows Oliver (Jogia) and Ciara (Cameron), who, after meeting randomly in a supermarket, fall for each other fast, and dangerously hard. 56 days later, homicide investigators arrive at Oliver’s apartment to find an unidentified body — brutally murdered and intentionally decomposed. The First Ever Taskmaster Was a Very Different Beast
Image
As Alex Horne tells it, Taskmaster was born out of professional jealousy. In 2009, he became a parent and so broke with almost a decade of tradition by not taking a show to the Edinburgh Fringe. That same year, his friend and former flatmate Tim Key won the festival’s top comedy award, for which Horne had been nominated in 2003.

At home and envious, Horne sent out emails inviting 20 comedians – including Key – to take part in a new competition in which he would set them a different task each month for a year. The results would be shared in a live performance at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe called The Taskmaster.

The result was organised chaos. An overdraft of comedians (a Fringe-specific collective noun) plus a pianist joined Horne on stage to reveal the results, set tie-break tasks, and eventually crown a winner.

“So this is The Taskmaster,” Horne told the crowd, “It...

WWE: War Games – WCW’s Most Notorious Matches DVD Review
As fans we’ve seen wrestling go to some extreme measures that led to some epic encounters over the years. From Hell in a Cell to Last Man Standing, there have been many stipulations over the years that push the boundaries of brutality and the human anatomy. But there was only one match that went beyond… The War Games.

No matter where it was placed in schedule, the signature two cage spectacular was always the big draw for WCW. Strange alliances would be made and WrestleWars along with fall brawls would be forged in a team battleground of steel and blood . No Pinfalls. No Disqualifications. It’s just Submission or Surrender.

In the latest WWE DVD release: “War Games: WCW’s Most Notorious Matches” they look back at what happens when there are no other options and wrestling has go to war. I have to admit I was very...
