Let's play darts: BT Sport lands Bdo World Championship coverage rights
BT Sport has continued its investment in live sport, landing the rights to broadcast the Bdo World Professional Darts Championship in January 2015.

BT Sport and the BBC will share coverage from the legendary Lakeside Country Club with over 35 hours of darts coming to BT Sport 2.

Ray Stubbs will front BT's coverage and will be joined by Helen Skelton across nine days of action.

Martin Adams, Tony O'Shea and Scott Waites are among the sport's stars taking part in this year's championship.

"We are delighted to be showing the Bdo World Darts Championships, adding to the fantastic live sport and shows we have on our channels," said BT Sport boss Simon Green.

"We pride ourselves on offering a wide range of sport including top-flight football, first class rugby, motorsport, American sport and much more."

BT's coverage of the Bdo Championship starts on Saturday, January 3.

Match of the Day is 50: League table of the show's icons from Motty to Des
Match of the Day celebrates its 50th anniversary this week, after launching back in August 1964 with a game between Arsenal and Liverpool.

Half a century later, after five decades of triumph and tragedy for football fans across the country, the UK's flagship football programme is still going strong and remains as iconic as ever.

To celebrate this, Digital Spy has collated its own Premier League table of Motd icons from past and present. Using a (likely contentious) points system based around football knowledge, longevity on the show and a certain 'magic factor' that makes them a warm presence on our screens, this is our just-for-fun chart of the biggest names in its history.

Key: K=Knowledge L=Longevity M=Magic Factor (out of 10)

20. Robbie Savage – 14 points

K: 4, L: 4, M: 6

Love him or hate him, Robbie has grown to become one of Motd's most regular pundits over the past couple of...

Michael Owen, Owen Hargreaves added to BT Sport team
Michael Owen and Owen Hargreaves are among the latest list of presenters, commentators and experts signed up by BT Sport.

Ex-England and Manchester United striker Owen will be a co-commentator alongside BBC Radio 5 Live's Darren Fletcher and former voice of Sky and Espn Ian Darke.

Double Champions League winner Hargreaves, Steve McManaman, ex-England goalkeeper David James and Premier League referee Mark Halsey are also part of the BT Sport team of football experts.

It was announced earlier today that Rio Ferdinand would also be joining BT as an interviewer, programme-maker and football expert.

Jake Humphrey is the main anchor for BT's football coverage, while Ray Stubbs is the channel's chief football reporter.

BT Sport has secured the rights to broadcast 38 live games a season from the Barclays Premier League, along with other matches from Serie A in Italy, Ligue 1 in France, Brasileiro in Brazil and Major League Soccer in the USA.

Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye Banned For 3 Matches
Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has lost his appeal at a Regulatory Commission hearing today and he will now be suspended for three matches for violent conduct.

Shockingly, this means Cabaye will miss tonight’s match at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League, a decision made just a few hours before kick-off which is not ideal for manager Alan Pardew who must now reshuffle his side to accommodate the loss of a key man. The French midfielder will also miss his clubs games against Aston Villa (home on Sunday) and Tottenham Hotspur (away a week on Saturday).

Cabaye was charged following a stamping incident in Newcastle’s Fa Cup Fourth Round defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion this past Saturday 28th January.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew’s reaction to the Fa Charge;

“I’m absolutely livid about that, if I’m honest. After the game someone asked me about the TV coverage,...
