Biography

Sally Stubblefield was a real person who contributed the story for this screenplay. She had been a matron in a school for at-risk girls and worked for Warner Bros as copy editor and knew Adrian Scott. She later served as a journalistic reporter on the Rev Martin Luther King civil rights marches. She took the money she got from script and moved to Mexico where Trumbo later visited. She was born in China and had been raised by banker John S Stubblefield and his wife Helen, along with an older sister Anne in St. Joseph, Mich. Sally attended Barnard College and the Yale Drama School.
