Born in Montevideo in 1974.

He studied social communication in the Catholic university of Uruguay where he started directing shorts movies. There he also met Juan Pablo Rebella, his partner as a writer and director in all his movies.

After finishing their degree, he started working in commercials and TV in Uruguay. In 2001 he directed, with Juan Pablo Rebella, his first movie, "25 watts", influenced by Jim Jarmusch and Kevin Smith, tells the story of three friends trying to get some excitement during a boring sunday in Montevideo. "25 Watts" was well condidered in many festivals around the world.

During 2 years, Pablo Stoll and Juan Pablo Rebella worked in the screenplay of their second movie: Whisky. It became one of the greatest surprises at its release in the Cannes Film Festival in 2004. Since then, it has been released worldwide.
