Black Site Delta: Key Art Debut For Indie Action Flick
XLrator Media will be releasing Jesse Gustafson's action film Black Site Delta in theaters on May 5th and on VOD and iTunes on May 9th. We have the privilege of debuting the key art for you today. The Last Heist Review
Man, The Last Heist boasts one damn-fine hook – bank robbers accidentally lock themselves inside with a serial killer who starts picking them off one by one. On premise alone, Mike Mendez’s latest B-Movie hopeful is enough to get genre fans all revved-up – but dammit if execution doesn’t topple such a fragile structure. This is a low-budget flick that reeks of low-budgeting, never able to overcome actors who are obviously shooting fake guns or CGI effects that stick out like digital bullet holes. What should be a raucous heist/slasher hybrid plays like a slightly-elevated game of cops and robbers, cheap in value and lacking in performances.

Sigh – this is the genre fan in me being disappointed.

Torrance Coombs stars as Paul, the leader of a criminal gang who have their sights set on a closing bank. One of the employees, Daniel (Michael Aaron Milligan), is in the middle...

Review: In The Last Heist, A Serial Killer Spoils A Bank Robbery
Say you've got the perfect bank robbery planned out, should take you no more than 10 minutes, tops. You've got your team all ready to go, parked in a van nearby the bank branch, which has already closed to the public. All you've got to do is wait for the perfect moment, in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 ... And then a serial killer shows up. Mike Mendez, who made the funny and awesome giant insect movie Big Ass Spider, returns to direct The Last Heist, a title that reveals the movie's apparently deadly intentions. Guy Stevenson's original script plays fast and loose with plot holes, though it's entirely possible that Mendez, who edited the movie with Laurens Van Charante, cut some of the...
