Alan Stepp
Alan Stepp has been busy in Hollywood for over twenty-five years, producing, writing, directing, and acting. Alan is a fourth generation Texan. He grew up in Channelview, a small Texas town on the outskirts of Houston. Graduating from Texas State University, Alan earned a business degree with a concentration in management. By this time, he had become an avid member of the theater department, and appeared in numerous school productions. After graduation, Alan became a sales engineer for a Fortune 500 company on the West Coast. While in Los Angeles, he was given the opportunity to launch his professional acting career. Alan was invited back home to perform on the Houston stage. Once back in Houston, a myriad of television and commercial work became available to him. Alan began performing in numerous commercials, television, and feature films. During this time, Alan became the producer and director of "CRIMESTOPPERS" for the local ABC News affiliate. The show became so successful that the popular television show,"20/20" came to Houston to do a feature piece on the program, which also featured his directing of the series. Alan also produced and directed numerous specials for ABC News. Even with a busy production schedule, he maintained time to serve on the Board of Directors for the Screen Actors Guild. With established credits, Alan relocated back to Los Angeles to provide himself with direct access to the studios and networks. He immediately started working in front of and behind the camera on several major projects. At this time, "the infamous Texas cheerleader murdering mom scandal" came into the national spotlight. Alan's hometown of Channelview was reeling with media publicity. Producers across the country were doing everything in their power to obtain this story. Alan knew he had to do this project, because he wanted the story told with sensitivity toward citizens of Channelview, instead of pure exploitation. Alan produced and co-starred in the successful ABC television movie "WILLING TO KILL - THE TEXAS CHEERLEADER STORY." It starred Lesley Ann Warren & Tess Harper and garnered a twenty-four market share to twenty-one million viewers. Alan was also one of the producers of the critically acclaimed independent feature film, "DANCER TEXAS - POP. 81." released by Tri-Star/Columbia to outstanding reviews. N.Y. Times - "Best representation of Texas... since The Last Picture Show". Alan has worked for all the major studios and networks including Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Disney, ABC, CBS, NBC, and several major cable networks. He recently acquired the life-rights to another powerful Texas true crime story (Texas Monthly magazine article).
