The Simpsons Moviewas an obvious success when it was first released in 2007. Not only did it manage to earn $536.4 million on a modest $75 million budget, but it also scooped up a ton of accolades during the awards season. As such, this popular yellow family certainly made their mark on the big screen.
Yet, with so many episodes to take inspiration from, it comes as no surprise that the team struggled to pick a plot for the first feature-length film. In fact, the writers allegedly had so much material that they could easily produce two more films. Therefore, a lot of fans believe that some of the scrapped ideas would have been better suited to the first Simpsons movie.
Bart and Lisa Attend the Summer Camp From Hell Season 4, Episode 1, "Kamp Krusty"
In Season 4, Episode 1, "Kamp Krusty," the eldest Simpson children are excited to visit a summer camp led by the infamous Krusty the Klown.

The Simpsons is one of the most popular and iconic animated shows of all time, currently airing its 35th season. Yet even though The Simpsons doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, many fans believe the quality of the show is not what it used to be. In fact, most critics and fans believe that The Simpsons peaked with Season 4.
Season 4 of The Simpsons is, for many, the best of them all, with many iconic episodes like "Mr. Plow" and "Marge vs. The Monorail." Season 4 of The Simpsons also marked the departure of several of the original writing staff, which some fans argue is the reason behind the slow decline in quality. The Simpsons’ Season 4 received several accolades, including two Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a win for Dan Castellaneta, the voice actor behind Homer Simpson. In professional wrestling, the concept of “Kayfabe” refers to an unspoken agreement between fans and performers to never acknowledge the fictional aspects of the sport. In the horror genre, we have something similar with the way Found Footage movies invite audiences to play along with the scares to enhance their viewing experience. And when it comes to Found Footage, no movie handled this blending of reality and fiction better than The Blair Witch Project, which was accompanied by an ingenious viral marketing campaign featuring websites, dossiers and even missing person posters.
Among this supplemental material was an infamous mockumentary known as Curse of the Blair Witch, which premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel and was instrumental in convincing audiences that the film’s footage was meant to be taken seriously. A year later, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 had its own lesser-known tie-ins with Ben Rock‘s The Burkittsville 7...

Despite being confirmed for at least Season 36, there will inevitably be an ending for The Simpsons. A feature-length finale would be the perfect way to give a proper send-off to the show and its enduring characters. The finale should focus on both the central family and the expansive world of Springfield.
The Simpsons has proven repeatedly in recent seasons to have plenty left in the tank creatively, and the show is currently confirmed through at least Season 36. The show's creatives behind the scenes have kept the adventures of the Simpsons family fresh even as the show approaches its fortieth year on the air, all while using the show's elastic canon to keep the setting updated and fresh. It's remained as satirically pointed as ever, effortlessly silly and emotionally endearing as always-- but as with all things, there inevitably will have to be an ending for The Simpsons.

Now that it’s finally been released on DVD, we look at the TV shows that built on The Wonder Years’ foundations…
The Wonder Years, famous for being the show that made a generation of kids nostalgic for a decade they’d never even set foot in, finally arrived on DVD this month following the resolution of a years-long music rights tangle. Neal Marlens and Carol Black’s comedy drama ran for six seasons between 1988 and 1993 on ABC, following Fred Savage’s Kevin Arnold through his late-sixties and early-seventies suburban adolescence.
Thematically, stylistically, and tonally, The Wonder Years blazed a trail for television comedy and teen-focused drama that was subsequently traipsed down by numerous shows, from the superlative Freaks And Geeks and My So-Called Life to How I Met Your Mother, Malcolm In The Middle and countless others. Its innovative film-style use of a single-camera, lack of laughter track, fourth-wall breaking,...

Production has begun on the pilot of Comedy Central's Ugly Americans, the spin-off of the popular 5-On animated web series from creator Devin Clark that struck a chord last year on Atom. The series, about the adventures of a social worker from the Department of Immigration trying to help various human and nonhumans adjust to New York's bustling lifestyle, is being animated out of New York by Brooklyn-based Augenblick Studios. David M. Stern (Monk, The Simpsons) is executive producing the pilot with creator Clark producing in New York. In its web form, the 8-episode 5-On (above) debuted back in June of 2007 an intrepid reporter, Alan Whiter, interviews "five of anything about everything," which can be anything from five aliens and their thoughts on the Sopranos ending, or five robots on the immigration debate. Comedic writers Nick Kroll (Cavemen) and John Mulaney wrote and voiced the series along with Clark.
