The British Sas faced as many challenges as any military unit in World War II, with some of their biggest captured in the new series Rogue Heroes. Halloween Pussy Trap Kill Kill! – The Review
Review by Mark Longden

One of my favourite things to do when a movie isn’t exactly holding my interest is play “B-movie economics”. I try and puzzle out how something gets funded inside the fictional world, and this one has a doozy. Our “villain”, a guy who had his face carved off by Middle Eastern terrorists when in the army over there, has built a huge underground concrete base with multiple rooms, all sorts of remote controlled traps, a huge control room with multiple TV feeds, etc. So, how did this guy pay for all this? Did he get an insurance payout from the Iraqi government? What did he tell the contractors who came to fit all his wiring and special death traps? Where did he pick up his two sidekicks?

“Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill!” is named after one of the great movies of the 60s, “Faster, Pussycat!

'The Interview' Red Band Trailer: Sex Jokes Galore in Seth Rogen-James Franco Comedy
Seth Rogen in Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years (2023)
Seth Rogen and James Franco have a very unusual conversation about Matthew McConaughey and a goat in the red band trailer for the controversial comedy The Interview. The latest trailer offers a new look at Rogen and Franco's characters' hijinks before they get sent to North Korea to assassinate Kim Jong Un. This apparently involves the repeated smelling of their fingers. Rob Lowe also shows up in a cameo, looking quite different than the way he typically does.  The film was co-directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, based on a script they wrote with David Sterling (Girls). Lizzy Caplan co-

Exclusive Set Visit and Images: Bloody Mary 3D
The birthing of a film can be a painful process, particularly in the world of independent filmmaking, and while truncated shooting schedules, limited budgets and location challenges conspire at times to create seemingly insurmountable hurdles, nothing proves more daunting for cast and crew alike than being subject to a producer with more mood swings than a 1940’s jazz band.

Such was the case on the set of director Charlie Vaughn’s Blood Mary 3D.

Originally slated to shoot in December of 2010, executive producer Chalmers (who previously produced the Bruce Campbell flicks Man with the Screaming Brain and Alien Apocalypse) made the choice to film Bloody Mary in 3D, with production therefore being delayed until spring while logistics were being hammered out.

Shooting over the course of a short six days earlier this month in and around an industrial complex in South Central L.A., this writer paid the production a...

Aliens vs. Avatars Trailer Brings the Blue Cheese
A few weeks back we brought you the mind-blowing trailer for the zero budget superhero spoof The Amazing Bulk. While that film still seeks distribution, the filmmaker's next b-movie bonanza already has a trailer. It's not an April Fools Day prank. It's Aliens vs. Avatars, folks!

Director Lewis Schoenbrun was kind enough to pass along a lengthy four-page summary of the Aliens vs. Avatars plot that I narrowed down a bit. A clique of college age friends vacationing in a cabin in the woods become prey for an alien monster called the "Necrosis" that is capable of invisibility and shape-shifting into the form of anything it has clawed or consumed. Ava (Cassie Fliegel), a tall extraterrestrial female with blue skin from a civilization nearly wiped out by the "Necrosis", arrives to kill the space monster once and for all. She'll change her skin color to something more Caucasian to blend in with the humans,...

The Amazing Bulk Trailer is Simply Amazing
The Wtf Friday Video of the Week comes early this week, and believe me when I tell you this video will have you uttering that three-letter acronym. The Amazing Bulk is not a new Asylum mockbuster. It is... It is... You just have to watch it with your own eyes and then spend the next hour convincing yourself what you just saw was real.

David Sterling is a producer known for making movies on the cheap. I don't think movies get much cheaper than The Amazing Bulk. Actually, having seen past films he's produced (The Curse of Lizzie Borden 1 & 2, Pirates of Ghost Island, Queen Cobra, Studio 666, Tower of Blood, Slaughterhouse Phi: Death Sister), this one might actually be considered a big budget effects blockbuster. Having also previously produced two other superhero mockbusters -- the harmlessly bad Metal Man (review here) and the insufferably unwatchable The Black Knight - Returns...

Gay of the Dead #28: The Lair, Season Three (Part 2 of 2)
What can I say about Sybil Danning that would be a surprise to anyone? Gorgeous, talented, fun to watch. In whatever project she appears, Danning is always completely committed. Watching her as I have over the years, I see not only chops, but a healthy sense of humor as well. I feel like she “gets it,” if that makes any sense. (And after this interview, I’m even more of a fan.) Courtesy of friend Fred Olen Ray, Danning joins all the vampire fun on The Lair in this third season.

Sean Abley: We’ve actually met very briefly—I moderated the Lair panel for the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in La months ago. I was incredibly intimidated by meeting you. You’re Sybil Danning! But you turned out to be very sweet, and even asked me if it went Ok afterwards. You’ve now worked with my friend Dylan Vox twice,...

Indie H1N1: Virus X breaks out
Fango heard from busy indie-horror actor Joe Zaso, who’s done a number of New York-area and overseas fright flicks and recently made a trip to La to co-star in a sci-fi chiller called H1N1: Virus X. He sent along a couple of photos (see them below) and comments on the currently lensing movie, directed by first-timer Ryan Stevens Harris.

Executive-produced by Domiziano Arcangeli (of Orgy Of Blood, which we previously reported on here) and veteran B-meister David S. Sterling and co-starring The Devil’S Rejects’ Priscilla Barnes, H1N1: Virus X casts Zaso as Dr. Gravaman, an evil scientist who performs twisted experiments on human guinea pigs. It’s “not too far a stretch” from the types of roles Zaso has been regularly playing lately, he tells us: “This seems to be the year of the troublemaking doctor roles for me. First was Braincell, which was...

New Images from The Occultist
Rock star extraordinaire Aine Leicht dropped us off a couple of stills for Domiziano Arcangeli's latest film The Occultist for your enjoyment, and one of them just brings the biggest evil smile to our faces! Ah, indie filmmaking! How we love the balls that you exhibit at times.

Before we get to the stills ... a little background. Arcangeli is teaming up with producer David S. Sterling on two new horror films: the currently shooting The Occultist and H1N1 Virus, which goes into production in mid-September.

The first of the two films, already in production, is The Occultist. Directed by Novin Shakiba (Deadly Little Christmas), the film tells the story of a group of medical students at a prestigious university who try to evoke evil spirits with sinister results. Domiziano co-stars with Ursula Vari and Rachel Reynolds.

The second feature, H1N1 Virus, is a thriller about a case...
