- After studying at the RADA, he volunteered for the RAF. During WWII, he entertained the troops around the world with fellow airmen and future stars Peter Sellers, Tony Hancock, and Dick Emery.
- Other than Herbert Lom and Burt Kwouk, he appeared in more Pink Panther films than anyone else.
- Close friend and confidant of the late Peter Sellers with whom he worked quite extensively.
- Served in the Royal Air Force during World War II.
