  • In an eerie coincidence, on the very same day he died the co-writer of Palm Springs (1936), Humphrey Pearson, one of Guy's last films, died in Palm Springs of a gunshot wound.
  • He was awarded a military Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 1919 King's Honours List for his services to military in World War I.
