The Sleaford Mods watch themselves perform in the video for “Second,” off their upcoming retrospective album, All That Glue, out May 15 via Rough Trade.
In the Robin Lee-directed clip, two actresses (Kate Dickie and Emma Stansfield) portray Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn in the Mods’ early days when they frequently played pubs. The women are pitch-perfect, down to Williamson’s Fred Perry polo shirt and Fearn’s omnipresent beer. The electronic duo is known for their unorthodox stage setup — Fearn turns on the beats and shuffles in place while Williamson loses it.

From the Nutcracker to American Psycho, from Mary Poppins to Kurt Vile, our critics pick their must-sees of the festive season
If you wish it could be Christmas every day
Nutcrackers, various
You know it's Christmas in the ballet world by the number of Nutcrackers touring the world's stages. In the UK alone, there are close to a dozen doing the rounds, but the top three remain the Royal Ballet's exquisitely traditional version, the sparky family friendly production by Birmingham Royal Ballet, and English National Ballet's – with the best snow scene of them all. Royal Opera House, London (020-7304 4000), 4 December to 16 January; Birmingham Hippodrome (0844 338 5000), to 12 December; London Coliseum (020-7845 9300), 11 December to 5 January.
Father Christmas
Does Father Christmas use the loo? Does he secretly long for summer? Does he have strong views on the size of chimneys? You bet he does. Raymond Briggs's gorgeous picture book gets a heartwarming makeover for under-sixes.

Marcel, one of Hollywood's hottest scriptwriters, is keen to talk about her debut film, Oscar-tipped Saving Mr Banks. But what can she reveal about her next blockbuster, Fifty Shades of Grey?
For a woman who spends her days in a shed, the Kelly Marcel story has a lot to pack in. Right now the name will ring few bells, but any account of her professional life must find room for Steven Spielberg, Holby City, Walt Disney and the tattoos of actor Tom Hardy. It would be nice to have a screenwriter on hand to knock it into shape – one like Marcel herself, among the most sought-after writers in Hollywood, working from the bottom of her south-west London garden.
Perhaps we should cut straight to the mention of what will surely be a landmark in her career, her script for the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. Abruptly, the mood...

British actors sound clearly different at Us award ceremonies but these days you'd never know it on film
You probably won't remember Bonar Colleano (or unmemorable films starring him, like Good-time Girl). He was thin and, well, bony, with slicked-back hair, and just 34 when his car crashed 53 years ago. But he made a good living in British movies for a decade before that because he came from New York City, and was thus available to play GIs and mobsters on demand in a natural American accent Britain's homegrown B-movie actors couldn't mimic for love or for money. But now see how the world has changed.
Here's Christian Bale from Haverfordwest at the Oscars tonight after doing raw Massachusetts to the manner born. And, turning on the television, there's Hugh Laurie from Oxford still playing in House. That drunken McNulty cop in The Wire? Dominic West from Eton. (He could have been David Cameron's fag.

How would you cast the prime minister's biopic?
Now that Gordon Brown's political career is traversing the final segment of its narrative arc, it can't be long before someone proposes a film (or TV drama, more likely) charting its highs and lows. It may be too soon to write the ending of the prime minister's story, but it's not too early to start thinking about the cast. Who would play whom?
Gordon Brown Brown has been assayed by a surprising number of actors already, including David Morrissey, Peter Mullan and Tony Slattery. But based on the idea that, from an acting point of view, the latter-day Brown is basically Nixon with a Scottish accent, either Frank Langella or Anthony Hopkins would serve. Failing that, Philip Seymour Hoffman – he could probably play anyone.
