At the age of 10 she was offered a small role in Le Magicien d'Oz (1939) but her parents turned it down.

In 1999, Betta, along with the rest of the remaining original cast, attended the 50th anniversary of "South Pacific" in New York.

She had three children: Her son, who was a television producer in London and her daughters Deanna and Karen.

With the passing of Betta St. John there are now only two stars still alive from the 1953 "Who-z-at Star" trading card set, Ann Blyth and Leslie Caron. The very popular and still sought after 80-card set was produced by the Topps company.
