Gavin & Stacey: The Finale is ripping up the record books in the UK.
According to the BBC, the concluding episode of the British sitcom epic has now been watched by 19.3 million people, which makes it the most-watched scripted show since these records began some 23 years ago. It has smashed the show’s own record from the 2019 Christmas special – which reached 18.5M viewers in 28 days – in less than half the time, having premiered just nine days ago.
The final episode on Christmas Day was watched by 12.3M viewers live, beating the previous Christmas special from five years before, and since then another 7M have come to the 90-minute finale, which tied up the oh-so-juicy loose end of James Corden’s Smithy and Ruth Jones’ Nessa’s relationship. Deadline had revealed the finale was in development almost a year ago today and it was confirmed last May.

Clint Eastwood is one of the biggest names in the Western movie genre, but the films he's acted in and directed belong to additional niches of cinema outside the Western. Each decade of Eastwood's career has brought new challenges and opportunities, and the 1990s saw some of his best work, as well as some movies that audiences and critics would rather forget. However, each project is memorable thanks to Eastwood's longevity as a performer and filmmaker. Though not every Eastwood movie from the '90s is of the highest quality, they all have something fun to draw viewers in.
Though Clint Eastwood's movies from the 1960s are some of his most famous, catapulting him into stardom, the 1990s saw a dramatic turn in the kinds of projects Eastwood took on. It was in this era that Eastwood started to experiment and reflect on his legacy, especially within Westerns as a whole.

Netflix's latest streaming series, A Man on the Inside is officially a hit but did you know it's also based on a true story? The Mike Schur show starring Ted Danson, about an older man who infiltrates a nursing home as a spy, may seem like an idea that's too outrageous to be real, but it isn't, and was actually the subject of a 2020 documentary out of Chile called The Mole Agent.
And, as luck would have it, the documentary is streaming free on Tubi and also available on Netflix right now!
A Man on the Inside tells the story of Charles (Danson), a widowed, retired professor who responds to a job listing in a newspaper and ends up becoming a spy for a private investigator. Charles, you see, has been living alone and feeling quite lonely since his wife died, and his daughter Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) is...

Allen Slovick signed up for the Married at First Sight experiment to find a wife and start a family, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing.
His wife, Madison, has a history of dating good-looking men, and her family bluntly told him that he doesn’t fit that category.
Allen is quirky and funny with an interesting sense of style, but Madison doesn’t appreciate that.
However, Mafs Season 4 alum Sonia Granados recently gave her take on the Season 18 couples, and she had nothing but nice things to say about Allen.
The Chicago groom was admittedly “flattered and honored” by Sonia’s words, and he responded on social media.
Allen posted a screenshot of Sonia’s recap on his Instagram page and insight about his life.

Screenwriter Derek Kolstad wrote around 50 scripts before he finally broke through with the spec screenplay that became John Wick.
It’s an odd profession, screenwriting. There are some who’ve spent years trying to break into it, only to have their work changed to such a degree that their original idea has effectively vanished by the time it reaches the screen. There are others who get paid handsomely by studios to write screenplays that then wind up on a shelf, unused. For every celebrated screenwriter with millions in the bank and awards on their shelves, there are countless others who are behind on their rent and remain largely unknown.
Screenwriter Derek Kolstad, meanwhile, is something of an inspiration. He toiled away for years in the hope of making a career out of writing, and almost gave up when some of the low-budget movies he worked on didn’t bring in much of a salary.

Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, but delivers many unforgettable story moments all on its own. Certain gameplay moments, like Link's first skydive or climbing up to the Wind Temple, stand out for their impressive scale. Many of Totk's unforgettable moments come from it's most important story beats involving Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, Rauru, and Sonia.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom continues the story of Breath of the Wild as a direct sequel, starting with Link and Zelda exploring ruins beneath Hyrule Castle that they didn't know were there. Naturally, that acts as the beginning of a new adventure, since Zelda discovers not only reliefs in the ruins that tell a story, but the sealed body of Ganondorf. And this encounter begins a journey that spans thousands of years.

Despite the tone of early trailers, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom failed to deliver a darker story than its predecessor. Characters in Totk are largely thriving during the Upheaval, and it feels as though the dire circumstances in Hyrule have any tangible effects. Exploring the possibility of character deaths and a darker atmosphere could create a more dire situation, having a significant impact on the world and characters of Hyrule.
The next addition to The Legend of Zelda has a chance to make use of a narrative direction which Tears of the Kingdom shied away from. The latest entry in the Zelda franchise has an impressive story told with a wide array of unique characters. However, Totk also arguably wasted several opportunities, which its successor is now perfectly poised to incorporate into itself.

Gavin & Stacey’s 2019 Christmas special was huge. Bigger than huge. Do some bad maths, and you could even say that it was watched by one in three people in the UK population (you’d be wrong but when has that ever stopped anybody making statistical assertions).
Outside of state funerals, royal weddings or pandemic lockdown broadcasts, nothing much on British TV gets over 18 million viewers, let alone something nice, and the 2019 Gavin & Stacey Christmas special was very nice. Which is why they’re rumoured to be doing another one.
As reported by Deadline, but yet to be confirmed by the BBC or the show’s production companies, Ruth Jones and James Corden have written a new episode, which is due to film this summer “with a view to airing at Christmas time this year, five years on from the previous ratings-topping special.” The news coincides with Corden’s return to...

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the finale of Marvel’s Secret Invasion.
Marvel’s Secret Invasion wrapped up on Wednesday, though little — if anything — is actually resolved. In fact, it appears that Earth might just be worse off than it was before Nick Fury came back from space to save the day.
This is your last warning to stop now if you don’t want to be spoiled on the finale of Secret Invasion.
Episode 6, titled “Home,” begins right where the previous episode left off. Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) had given Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) an ultimatum: Bring him The Harvest (aka a vial containing the DNA of every superhero/villain who was at the Battle for Earth in Avengers: Endgame) or he will continue on his quest to start World War III. The Kiuyoyou Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is found in the North-East of the Linder's Brow Region and contains a puzzle that utilizes both Fire and Ice elements. Link will need to use these elements and his abilities to receive the Light of Blessing from this Shrine.
Unlike the Turakawak Shrine in Zelda: Totk, the Kiuyoyou Shrine has no obstructions outside of it, so that Link can enter it without any trouble. Upon entering it, Link will descend a path that will lead to a room with a Large Ice Block and some Fire coming down from the ceiling on the right.
How To Get The Chest In The Kiuyoyou Shrine
To the left of Link, there will be a closed door, or gate, that needs to be opened. Next to the gate will be a small cube-shaped indention on the wall with a button on the bottom.

Memories of the past in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are revealed to the player through Geoglyphs, ancient markings Link must find for continuing the main story. Also known as Tears of the Dragon, Geoglyphs give players the lore of the world while also pointing them ever closer to the powerful Master Sword. Since these ancient markings are directly tied to Link's journey, players will need to search for all of them at some point.
After players reach Hyrule's surface, they must first talk to Cado and Impa at New Serenne Stable to activate the quest that allows Link to start finding Geoglyphs. Impa would explore to find all the Geoglyphs herself, but players will find her damaged balloon preventing any travel. Using one of Link's new abilities in Tears of the Kingdom called Ultrahand lets players fix the baloon, leading them directly to the first Geoglyph nearby.

This article contains spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Despite pre-release speculation, Princess Zelda is not playable in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. That news will undoubtedly come as a disappointment to some fans. After all, a series of rumors and fan theories strongly suggested that Tears of the Kingdom would finally give Zelda the playable adventure that she very much deserves. Instead, it appears that you’ll still have to rely on games of…mixed quality if you want to play as the princess.
Don’t be too discouraged, though. Tears of the Kingdom may not let you play as Zelda, but she’s still the best character in the game.
Mind you, it’s possible to play (and beat) Tears of the Kingdom while only seeing Princess Zelda a handful of times. She and Link play a prominent part in the game’s opening cutscene,...

At the very beginning of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Link meets a seemingly friendly mysterious being named Rauru who helps him. This good Samaritan clearly knows much more than he lets on, leaving a question hanging in the air of who Rauru really is. His placement and timing are crucial to allowing everything that happens in the rest of the game even transpire, but everything about him seems at first very secretive.

Sweden has won the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, marking a historic double for its victorious artist Loreen.
The Swedish star had previously won in 2012 with ‘Euphoria’, and she repeated the feat on Saturday evening with ‘Tattoo,’ which earned 583 points.
An estimated global audience of close to 180million watched as she collected the prize on stage in Liverpool, UK.
Finland came second, with Israel in third place.
Host country UK’s Mae Muller came second last out of 26 with 24 points, while last year’s winners Ukraine came sixth. Bottom of the board was Germany with 18 points.
Loreen had been the clear favourite going into the evening’s event. She is the only female artist to have won the Contest twice.
The Grand Final interval act began with a performance by last year’s UK runner-up Sam Ryder.

A top star is billed to give a performance during this evening’s Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final.
The identity of the performer is being kept a close secret by event organisers, who are running rehearsals in a closed set in Liverpool, UK.
BBC commentator Scott Mills told the Liverpool Echo:
“There has been some stuff happening where it’s been a completely closed set so nobody has been allowed to go in there. So what’s going on there? No one will tell us I promise you.”
His fellow commentator Rylan Clark added: “There are some secrets.”

Sonia Pizarro of Operation Repo fame has sadly passed away. The reality show, which ran for eleven seasons on Telemundo and TruTV, depicts stories of repossessions going awry in the style of a documentary series. It ran from 2006 to 2014 and was created by Luis Pizarro, who served as one of the stars of the show. Sonia, his sister, was brought in to serve as one of the main cast members and became the boss. She just might be the most memorable personality on the show and helped keep the show popular with viewers during an era that was completely dominated by reality television.
On Instagram, Pizarro's ex-husband, Froylan Tercaro, announced that she had died at the age of 60. The post included an image of Pizarro along with a statement expressing how sad he is to say goodbye. Tercaro says she will always have a "special place" in his heart despite their divorce.

The Encanto cast helps to bring to life one of Disney most magical stories. Encanto, the 60th movie created by Walt Disney Animation Studios, explores the magical beauty of Colombia in a tale about individuality, with the young Mirabel Madrigal finding herself being the only member of her family without special abilities. In typical Disney fashion, Mirabel embarks on a journey of self-acceptance that leads her to understand what truly makes her special.
Encanto follows a trend started by Moana, exchanging the classic Disney Princess tropes for real-life cultures that have the potential for a wide variety of stories. To better capture the country's magic, directors Byron Howard and Jared Bush imbued Encanto with real Colombian locations, costumes, food, music, and other cultural elements. One of Encanto's highlights is the Latin-American cast at the heart of the story. From telenovela icons to Hollywood stars, Encanto gathers a large and talented ensemble cast.

Life is full of little disappointments. People rarely land their dream jobs. The partner of your dreams rarely materializes. The McRib will never be a permanent menu item.
We deal with these micro-heartbreaks as best we can. We endure. We must, as Sonia advised Uncle Vanya, live our lives. But I'm not sure I want to live in a world where the animated "Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures" won't end with Anakin Skywalker massacring a bunch of younglings.
As you likely remember, the tragic third act of "Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith" features the soon-to-be-Darth-Vader making a lightsaber hash out of the young Jedi trainees. The wanton murder of children is not typically funny, but the tonal mixture is so off in these movies that the most crushing moments are often unintentionally hilarious. Dean Gaffney has said that he thinks his former EastEnders castmate Natalie Cassidy has already won Celebrity Big Brother. The Robbie Jackson actor believes that Cassidy, who played his on-screen sister Sonia, would have to "do something drastic" to be evicted from the house. Speaking on Channel 5 spinoff show Bit on the Side, he claimed: "Seeing as we're six days in, I think Natalie's won the show in my opinion. "I think she'd have to do something drastic which she won't do, to lose this now." Meanwhile, Gaffney predicted Loose Women star Denise Welch will finish runner-up, (more)...

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Gene Siskel and I fought like cats and dogs, and we made some good television.
During those early years for "Sneak Previews" our favorite occupation was dreaming up "special editions" which were sort of like the "think pieces" we wrote for our papers.
I hadn't seen those shows for years, but it turns out they were safely slumbering in the vaults of Wttw/Chicago, our public television station. Starting Friday, we're going to be airing the best of those old shows on "Ebert Presents At The Movies."
Our favorite special edition was titled "Going to the Movies with a Critic." The idea was to follow the process of reviewing a single movie from beginning to end. The show opens with Gene and me receiving a call from John Iltis, then (and now) a Chicago movie publicist. It was...

Christy Lemire of The Associated Press and Ignatiy Vishnevetsky of Mubi.com will be the co-hosts of "Ebert Presents at the Movies." The two experienced and respected critics will also introduce special segments featuring other contributors and the Pulitzer Prize-winning critic Roger Ebert.
The new weekly program debuts Jan. 21 on public television stations in 48 of the top 50 markets, representing more than 90% national coverage. It will be produced in Chicago at Wttw, where Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert began taping "Sneak Previews" some 35 years ago.
"It was pretty emotional for me, walking down the same corridors, into the same studios, even meeting some of the same camera operators, editors and stagehands we worked with," Ebert said.
The executive producer of the program will be his wife, Chaz. The director will be Don Dupree, who logged 15 years as director of "Siskel & Ebert" and "Ebert & Roeper." Ebert will be a co-producer and host a weekly segment.

Well 2010 is almost over and it’s time for my obligatory Top Ten of the year. As with last year I’ll be compiling two movie Top 10’s – one cinematic releases and one direct to DVD list. Why? Well the majority of movie sites and blogs give credence to all the big releases of the year but, as I try to do all year, I want to highlight some films which you might have missed that you really should hunt down and watch.
This list is completely subjective, and you may not agree with any or all of my choices or the order in which they appear. Either way I’d love to read your thoughts on my choices good or bad, so don’t forget to leave a comment. Anyway, onto the list:
10) Hunt to Kill
Jim Rhodes (“Stone Cold” Steve Austin) is one bad ass Border Patrol Agent.

Alexis, 20
Alexis has always been a keen performer, but he has never worked professionally.
As a young boy he was in to acting. He considers himself to be a “showman” and has “no passion for anything else”. He only fell in love with singing when he performed in his school’s production of Grease.
Alexis believes his talent may come from his dad, who used to sing in various bands and gave Alexis lots of encouragement. He aims to emulate singers like Rod Stewart and Freddie Mercury as he was brought up listening to them.
Aged 18 Alexis attended the Kent and Surrey Academy Performing Arts for one year.
