Actor Anthony Michael Hall is a member of the "Brat Pack," having rose to fame with his roles in iconic coming-of-age films from the 1980s. This includes roles in the John Hughes movies Weird Science and The Breakfast Club, and these are both films that Hall would love to see reimagined.

In an interview with Inverse, Hall was asked about the rumors that Weird Science might be getting a sequel or a remake. For his part, Hall feels like he's aged out of the time period that would have made a sequel possible, but that doesn't mean he isn't up for seeing a new movie made. Full House star Lori Loughlin says that all of the wonderful things that people have heard about Keanu Reeves are true. She can personally recall just how "lovely" he'd been with her on the set of the movie they shot together more than three decades ago.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space has long had a cult following in the horror community. Even so, it's one of those rare genre films to have never been given an official sequel. The Chiodo brothers, who created the film together, have been trying to get a sequel made for decades without much luck. Speaking about the possibility in a new interview with SFX Magazine (per GamesRadar), Stephen Chiodo, who directed the original film, said that he's now trying to get an eight-episode series greenlit for a streaming service rather than trying to get another feature film developed.

A couple months ago, it was announced that a video game based on the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) will be released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One sometime in 2023. A trailer for the game can be seen in the embed above, and now the folks at IGN have shared a video that shows how closely the video game resembles the movie it’s based on. When the announcement was made, it was said that the video game maps would be “inventive, but faithful recreations of iconic locations from the Killer Klowns from Outer Space movie.” The video below does a great job of showing just how faithful these location recreations are.

The Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game is a multiplayer, asymmetrical (3 vs 7) horror game that pits three Klowns against seven Humans.

It's a balmy summer evening, the stars are out, and something strange just dropped out of the sky and landed in the woods near your hometown. What should you do? Warn the sheriff, knowing he never really listens to punk kids like you anyway? Investigate and poke it with a stick? Or ignore it and carry on making out in the back of your Convertible? 

All the above answers are viable and correct if you're a stock character in a B movie horror involving hostile visitors from outer space, who like parking up on the edge of a small town where the hicks are too dumb to realize what is going on until it's almost too late. The premise was a staple of the atomic-era science fiction of the 1950s, and many directors who grew up with fond memories of those movies made their own versions in the 1980s.

Woo Hoo! We’re girl-starved teen nerds, and we’re cooking up our own living sex toy with our home computers! John Hughes turns an infantile idea into one of his not-bad teen angst comedies, as Kelly LeBrock materializes to fulfill their wildest dreams. The idea is of course transformed into a basically benign coming-of age story … with the underlying message that we’d not all mind having Ms. LeBrock reformat our hard drive. Though they exist to entertain and make us laugh, there are few things people find scarier than clowns. Why that is, I cannot say; it’s a combination of the makeup, I think, and the fact that there is a person in there whose motivations for hiding under that makeup are unclear. When Mike and his girlfriend Debbie warn the local police that a gang of homicidal alien-clowns have landed in the nearby area (in a spaceship shaped like a circus big-top, no less), the cops are naturally sceptical. Before long however, reports are coming in from other anxious residents detailing similar run-ins with the large-shoed assailants. There can no longer be any doubt the Killer Klowns from Outer Space are here, and they re out to turn the Earth s population into candy floss!

This May will be the 30th anniversary of when viewers were first introduced to those cotton candy-loving visitors from above in Stephen Chiodo's Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and on May 19th in Los Angeles, the movie's three-decade mark will be celebrated in style at The Montalban Theatre.

Similar to a three-ring circus, the May 19th celebration will include multiple performance for attendees to enjoy, including fortune tellers, contortionist Bonnie Morgan (who played Samara in Rings), a Q&A with the cast and crew, and a screening of Killer Klowns From Outer Space with a live score accompaniment from The Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, conducted by composer John Massari.

Back in March, Steven Chiodo, the director of the beloved 1988 horror cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space, revealed in a podcast interview that he wants to start a new trilogy, in the form of a TV series. The filmmaker, who was working on the project with his brother Charles Chiodo and Edward Chiodo, described the project as a "requel," which is a hybrid of both a reboot and a sequel. The filmmaker offered another update, and while nothing is set in stone quite yet, the filmmaker is confident that this unique project will happen. Here's what he had to say below during a recent podcast appearance.

"There's nothing coming out that you could guarantee. Look, Hollywood is a very fickle industry. We've been working on a sequel since the day after we made Killer Klowns from Outer Space. I mean we have tons of ideas on different directions we can take it.

From the deadly dreamscapes of Freddy Krueger, to the graveyard where Jason Voorhees was resurrected, to one of the most perilous proms put to celluloid, the special guests for Crypticon Minnesota 2016 come from all avenues of horror genre history, and they will congregate this weekend in the Land of 10,000 Lakes for the 11th annual "Nightmare Before Halloween."

Crypticon Minneapolis may not begin until Friday, but festivities for the event will take place tonight at the Theatres at Mall of America with a special screening of A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, featuring star Mark Patton on hand for an audience Q&A.

Almost thirty years after its initial release in 1988, Killer Klowns from Outer Space is more popular today than it has ever been. It's the true definition of a cult classic, and it's one that continues to get discovered by young audiences. So of course those associated with the rights are looking to bring the property back. But instead of a big screen remake, we're getting a small screen 'requel', described as a sequel and a reboot. The man behind this madness is original director and Klown puppeteer Stephen Chiodo, who also co-wrote the original movie.

Talks of a Killer Klowns from Outer Space sequel have run rampant in recent years, but nothing has ever been officially locked down. Stephen Chiodo recently appeared on the Movie Crypt Podcast to offer an update on the property. And it sounds like the franchise will get new life in the form of a TV series.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space was always one of those movies that I knew I had to see but never got round to it, but through Netflix I got lucky. Finally getting to see it I saw what all the fuss was about and just why it is seen as a cult classic. Now Arrow Video have given it their treatment on a dual DVD and Blu-ray release and with plenty of special features it’s enough to make you drool.
