  • "Miss Caruso", the character she played in the opening of Vivre et laisser mourir (1973), was not credited by name in the films credits. Instead she was credited as "Beautiful Girl".
  • Her appearance in the episode, Whip Hand (2011), of the daytime BBC1 series Doctors (2000), broadcast on 15 September 2011, marked her triumphant return to acting after her many years absence from the profession.
  • She was in the initial version of the film, Mr. Forbush and the Penguins (1971), but was cut out along with the majority of the cast when the director decided to re-edit it.
  • She was offered a role in L'Ile en folie (1972) but had to turn it down due to other commitments.
  • Was a favourite subject of cartoonist J Edward Oliver, who drew a whole strip about her in Disc in the 1970s.
  • Had a bit part in Mr. Forbush and the Penguins (1971) but it was cut.
  • Partner of actor David Buck since the 1970s, they married in the summer of 1988, just months before his death from cancer. They had a daughter, Emily (b. 1984).
  • Made some notable film appearances for Hammer Studios, initially billed as 'Maddy Smith'.
  • Convent-educated British actress and model, the daughter of Robert and Ursula Smith (née Boas). Her father owned an antiques shop and painting restoration business near Kew Gardens. Her Swiss mother was a translator.
