He was born in Oak Park Illinois to a middle class family in the Machine Tool Business. After six and a half years in Hollywood, he returned to the business. His undergraduate work was done at Valparaiso University in Indiana and graduate work was done at the University of North Carolina. His biggest break ended up as his debut. Sneaking into Paramount Studios posing as an agent, he went to Bing Crosby Productions and when they saw he had previously worked with Kathy Crosby, they gave him a bit in a soap opera called "Bright Promise" with Dabney Coleman. He ran to SAG with his AFTRA card and joined - that was a big day in his life.

He enjoyed his time in Hollywood and still had friends there and great memories of people who always gave 100%.

    • Trivia
He did a Diet Shasta commercial at Santa Anita with Robin Moore -- Fred Astaire's wife. The rehearsal where Robin comes in on the horse, he caught the whip and some clown puts a blanket of roses on the horse. Unfortunately, the roses were attached with 3" long needles. The horse jumped and he hung on to the reins long enough for Robin to jump clear. The others thought it was bravery, but fear caused him to grab the reins and hold on for dear life. Oh, the horse was fine as well!
