Sivaprasad is an award-winning Malayalam film director, screenwriter and film professor. A former FTII student, he has directed documentaries, feature films and television serials. His works won him many awards, including national and state film awards. Sivaprasad won the National Film Award - Special Jury Award for his documentary film Ormayude Theerangalil (1994), which was about the prominent writer Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai.
