Slasher films are a dime a dozen, and The Lights is just one of many “killer” titles coming from Osiris Entertainment. That is, if this company is typecasting itself with the kinds of movies it likes to distribute, then The Lights is a comical addition to the slasher-film genre. Most of it is unintentional; the humour cannot go unnoticed especially when Jack Carter is the crazed killer with some silly one-liners, lame kill-zone moments, and uninispired deadpan deliveries.
Some people may want to know why he has gone cuckoo. The explanation is given with the opening act. When he comes home only to have his wife say she’s leaving him because she is in love with someone else, he simply goes berserk.

Madsen Back In Los Angeles Preparing For Cop Role
Reservoir Dogs star Michael Madsen is back in the U.S. preparing for a new cop role after he was hospitalised in the U.K. following an alleged booze binge.
The actor's representatives have played down tabloid reports suggesting Madsen had been held at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in England under the county's mental health act after he was found unconscious at the entrance of a hotel.
British newspaper The Sun reported that medics at the hospital registered him as a "high-risk" patient and placed him under "suicide watch".
But a source close to the star insists he was never held against his will and the suicide watch claims are ridiculous.
And now Madsen is back in Los Angeles, preparing to play one of the leads in a new John Sjogren movie. The filmmaker actually suggested Madsen for the role in Sweet Sixteen, a movie about two teenage female serial killers.
