After working as an actor for from ages 6 to 20, Stuffy found his calling in the world of sports. He won the Los Angeles city tennis tournament, was ranked nationally in table tennis, was an all-league football quarterback, and had become a pro baseball player at 19. At 19, he learned to play handball and decided that was his sport. After winning the southern California title within two years, he advanced to win the national singles title at 26. He went on to win the world singles championship, 2 national doubles championship, 3 Canadian national singles championships. A greater record would've been achieved had he not undergone six major surgeries during his playing career including 3 knee surgeries and 3 Achilles tendon surgeries. A greater record Although he had to deal with injuries throughout his career, he is regarded as one of the all-time greats.
