Ron Singer
DEADLINE EXCLUSIVE: SAG Award winner Jesse Metcalfe (On a Wing and a Prayer) has secured a lead role opposite Tristin Mays, Eric Roberts and Micah Giovanni in That's Hollywood's indie drama The Comic Shop, which Jonathan L. Bowen is directing from his script written with producer Scott Reed.

The film follows Mike (Metcalfe), the owner of a small comic shop in a strip mall in Las Vegas, as he struggles with addiction and his seemingly impossible dream of becoming a comic book illustrator. That's Hollywood's Ron Singer (The Story of Everything) and Reed (I Am Michael) are producing alongside Cynthia Huffman, with Joshua A. Cohen and Eduard Osipov co-producing. Metcalfe, Bowen and Chaz Rainey are the EPs.

Metcalfe is represented by Gersh, Link Entertainment and Brecheen Feldman Breimer.

Director, producer, writer, executive and philanthropist, most of Ron's life has been spent in the film industry; a member of the Director's Guild of America, he is President of That's Hollywood, Inc. a motion picture production company, and he serves as the Executive Director of Engaging the Senses Foundation, a non-profit that supports the arts, focusing on poetry and film.

Ron has directed and produced "The Story of Everything", written by Kealoha the Poet Laureate of Hawaii, a musical which combines poetry, artwork, dance, music, science and authentic Hawaiian chants into an unforgettable feature length performance.

Ron arranged the first motion picture produced and completed under Engaging the Senses Foundation's educational film program, Faulkner's emotion stirring and racially charged "Mississippi Requiem", together with Elysium Bandini (starring James Franco, Alicia Witt, Topher Grace and directed by four talented student directors) which debuted at the prestigious 2018 Nashville Film Festival.

Some highlights of Ron's motion picture resume: "The Comic Shop" (starring Jesse Metcalfe and Tristin Mays and directed by Jonathan Bowen); 70's comedy "Zeroville", adapted from the book by Steve Erickson (starring in and directed by James Franco, with Seth Rogan, Megan Fox, Will Farrell, Joey King); the historical drama, Steinbeck's "In Dubious Battle" (starring in and directed by James Franco, with Nat Wolff, Selena Gomez, Vincent D'Onofrio, Ed Harris, Sam Shepard, Brian Cranston, Ashley Greene, Zach Braff, Josh Hutcherson, Analeigh Tipton, Robert Duvall); the Sundance favorite "I Am Michael" (starring James Franco, Emma Roberts and Zachary Quinto and directed by Justin Kelly); biopic "The Bronx Bull" based on the true life story of boxing legend Jake LaMotta (starring William Forsythe, Alicia Witt, Joe Mantegna, Paul Sorvino, Penelope Ann Miller, Natasha Henstridge, Tom Sizemore and Cloris Leachman and directed by Martin Guigui)

Past films also include the renaissance faire based comedy "All's Faire in Love" (starring Christina Ricci, Matthew Lillard, Cedric the Entertainer and Ann-Margret. Directed by Scott Marshall); thriller "Hit and Run" for MGM (starring Laura Breckenridge and Kevin Corrigan. Directed by Enda McCallion); superhero spoof "The Specials" (starring Rob Lowe, Judy Greer, Jenna Fischer and directed by Craig Mazin); and the now cult classic "Free Enterprise" (starring William Shatner, Eric McCormack and directed by Robert Meyer Burnett).

Ron is actively working and developing new projects, and resides in Beverly Hills, California with his wife and daughter.
