- Specialised in playing Italian mobsters, including both John and Gene Gotti. Best known for his role as "Johnny Boy" Soprano on HBO's series The Sopranos.
- Played over 2000 performances as 'Gyp DeCarlo' in the 1st National Tour of "Jersey Boys," which premiered at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco on December 10, 2006.
- Graduated from Stanford in 1977 with a BA. Received his MFA from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Theatre Program in 1980, where he trained under the guidance of Ron Van Lieu, Olympia Dukakis and Nora Dunfee.
