Isaac Bashevis Singer

Educated at Warsaw Rabbinical Seminary.
Emigrated to USA in 1935.
Has worked as journalist and columnist for the New York paper "The Jewish Daily Forward"
Nearly all his fiction was written in Yiddish for the journal.
Received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1978.
Member of the 'Official Competition' jury at the 41st Venice International Film Festival in 1984.
