Alex has been a lifelong cinemaniac, since seeing Charles Chaplin's Les Lumières de la ville (1931), at the age of five. Following graduation from The University of Southern California's School of Cinema-Television, Alex had six screenplays produced as major motion pictures, the last of which, Les frères d'armes (1997), won the Best Feature prize at the first annual Hollywood Film Festival in 1998. Alex served as Editor-In-Chief of "Venice Magazine", Los Angeles' premiere arts and entertainment publication, from 2000-2007. Since joining "Venice" in 1996, Alex has interviewed, and written profiles of, more than 300 filmmakers, actors, musicians, and artists. Alex has had additional articles published in "Esquire", "Academy Magazine", "DGA Magazine", "Art & Living", "P3 Production Update" and "Latin Style" magazines.

Alex received his Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Producing from the American Film Institute. His thesis film, which he wrote and produced, Auteur (2006), won three awards and competed in over 20 international film festivals.

In 2010, Alex was awarded the 1st Place Maverick Award at the 20th annual Cinequest Film Festival for his screenplay Baron of Havana (2010), which was chosen from over 900 entries, and ten finalists.

Since 2007, Alex has served as Co-Editor of "The Hollywood Interview.com" with Terry Keefe, and has several film projects in pre-production under his "Wanderer Productions" banner.

Alex's podcast, "The Hollywood Interview Podcast," is streaming on all major platforms.
