World War Z earned 67% scores from critics and 72% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film grossed a whopping $540 million at the box office, helping it turn a profit from a hefty $190 million budget.

The odds of Mister Negative appearing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day just got a lot better. Marvel fans are losing their collective minds over a new set photo that seems to confirm the inclusion of the highly requested Spider-Man villain in the superhero sequel.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day began filming today, Aug. 1, in Glasgow, Scotland, under the working title Blue Oasis. The crew is currently prepping the set for a scene that will reportedly see Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Jon Bernthal's Punisher fighting over an armored vehicle. While seeing the two Marvel Cinematic Universe fan favorites fighting is exciting in itself, it's the tank that actually has fans ecstatic, as the Inner Demons logo has been spotted on the side of the armored vehicle. The Inner Demons are a gang run by the ruthless crime lord Mister Negative, a villain that fans have long wanted to see appear in a Spider-Man movie.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's 2018 sci-fi movie climbs Netflix's streaming charts seven years after its release. The box-office heavy hitter has starred in numerous commercially successful films. From Furious 7, which earned over $1.46 billion in 2015, to Moana 2 in 2024, which also crossed the $1 billion milestone, movies that feature The Rock can be wildly profitable, though some can also flop at the box office.

Aside from Moana 2, the actor had a Christmas-themed movie out last year. Red One saw The Rock starring opposite Chris Evans and J.K. Variety has learned exclusively that Allen Leech, Hamish Allan-Headly, Vincent Walsh, and Hilary McCormack have all been cast in the crime drama. They will appear alongside previously announced cast members J.K. Simmons, Tom Brittney, Titus Welliver, Jessica Frances Dukes, Stanley Morgan and Sarah Bolger. Production is currently underway.

Yes, this is early. Invincible season 4 is currently in production, and it’s not set to be released on Prime Video until 2026. The third season came to an end earlier this year, and it was met with praise as well as tears, so it’s not surprising that Amazon wants to bring us more of it.

We recently learned that the original Spider-Man trilogy will swing back into theaters later this year, courtesy of Fathom Entertainment. This comes just over a year after Sony Pictures re-released all the web-slinger's movies to celebrate Columbia Pictures' 100th anniversary.

As amazing as it will be to get another chance to see Sam Raimi's iconic trilogy on the big screen, the most spectacular part of these plans is the fact that we're getting a 4K version of Spider-Man 2.1, the extended cut of the 2004 movie. Released on DVD in 2007, the cut included an additional eight minutes of never-before-seen footage and is widely considered the definitive version of Spider-Man 2.

Spider-Man fans are getting a treat later this year. For the first time ever, the extended version of Sam Raimi’s classic film, Spider-Man 2, will be shown in theaters.

Fathom Entertainment announced that “Spider-Man 2.1” will hit the big screen in 4K quality for a limited time. Now, the first official poster for the release has been revealed, giving fans a fresh look at Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man.

The extended cut, which originally came out on DVD back in 2007, adds about eight minutes of extra footage to the movie. One of the standout scenes in the new version shows J. Jonah Jameson, played by J.K. Simmons, wearing Spider-Man’s suit in a comedic moment that fans have loved for years.

Prime Video giveth and Prime Video taketh away. It may have cancelled a great show like The Wheel of Time, leaving fans like me in a lurch. But it's getting an early start on the fifth season of Invincible, the hyper-violent animated superhero series based on the comics by Robert Kirkman.

How early? According to a new video featuring the cast members in the recording booth, they're already done with the voice acting, which means they're already done with the writing, which means they're well ahead of schedule. Season 3 wrapped up back in March and season 4 is due out until sometime in 2026. At this rate, we can expect season 5 in 2027, meaning we'll actually be getting a new season of Invincible every year. In an age where more and more shows go multiple years between new seasons, this is good news.

Invincible season 5 has just received a major update ahead of season 4's release. The season 3 finale of Prime Video's popular animated series was released on March 13, but Invincible season 4 was already confirmedafter being announced the previous summer at San Diego Comic-Con.

There was a more than two-year hiatus between seasons 1 and 2, but there was a shorter wait of only 10 months between seasons 2 and 3. Invincible creator Robert Kirkman has previously spoken about striving for a shorter hiatus between seasons moving forward, which will continue with season 4 debuting in 2026.

“Invincible” is living up to its title, fortifying itself for even more episodes. The animated series has received a Season 5 renewal from Prime Video. The order comes months before Season 4’s debut on the Amazon streamer in 2026.

In an interview with Variety discussing the Season 3 finale, “Invincible” creator Robert Kirkman teased that Thragg, the main villain of the original “Invincible” comic series by Image Comics, would finally appear on the show in its upcoming fourth season. It’s unclear whether Rhys would be voicing this character or a different newcomer to the series.

“It would certainly be weird if [Thragg] didn’t show up in the show,” Kirkman said at the time. “I mean, I don’t know. It’s so tough. Here’s what I’ll say: He’s been cast and he’s amazing.”
