Filmmaker and author/illustrator Richard "Dick" Siegel is a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York City. Before entering the film industry, his illustrations and comic strips have appeared in such periodicals as The New York Times Book Review, American Artist, New York magazine, Marvel Comics and several books packaged by PushPin Studios including "The Robot Book" and "Gone With the Ape.

His comic strip spoofing movie/comic genres "The 4:30 Movie" appeared in The SoHo Weekly News. Both "True Life CB Tales" and "Clyde Bolt, Robot" comic strips appeared in The CB Bible monthly.

He is the author of the critically acclaimed SF satire "The Extraterrestrial Report" (A&W Visual Library), "Alien Creatures" (Addison House) and "Fantastic Planets (Addison House). "Alien Plague", a novel, (Carlyle Books) was published under the pseudonym S. Noire.

Print media featuring his writing include "Punk City: Indictment of the American Dream" which appeared in American Cinematographer magazine, "King Kong in New York", and "The Cinemagic of Karl Freund" in Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine.

His short story "I Shot Down King Kong" appeared in Printed Poison, an pulp e-zine. Other Screenplays by Richard include "Spook Racket: A True Story".

As a Director of Photography, Richard has shot over 40 indie features, shorts, documentaries, music videos and more. Several of the films he has photographed have won several film festival awards including "The Cabbage Patch", "Ruth Ann's Etiquette" and "H.R. Pukenshette". The prestigious New York City Horror Film Festival accorded Richard and his team the "Best Cinematography" award for his work on "Flesh for the Beast" (Fever Dream/Media-Blasters 2003).

Richard has also co-directed several indie features including "Punk City" and "Jane" and as a 2nd Unit director recently on "The Wild Card" (Ardustry) as well as on "Flesh for the Beast". He also directed the opening bump for the "Guilty Pleasures" line from Media-Blasters.

His original story and screenplay "Shadow:Dead Riot" a action horror super spectacular starring Tony Todd was released from Fever Dreams/Media-Blasters in 2005 release bi-packed with a tie-in graphic novel "Shriek Show:The Mark of Shadow" written and laid out by Richard.

From March 2005 to July 2007 Richard was contributing head writer for the Weekly World News, creating branded entertainment and developing ancillary properties such as SpyCat and Matthew Daemon, Seeker of Obscure Supernaturals.

"Smash Moron, Intergalactic Dolt" was created by Richard in partnership with One World Wireless for mobile download platforms.

A collection of Richard's interior illustrations accompany "Goldie's Lox and the Three Bagels: Fractured Jewish Fairy Tales" by Jeff and Lila Dubinsky published by Kensington Books 2007.

Richard was the sole web editor/producer for nationalenquirer.com from 4/08-4/15, and produced and directed interviews with celebs including Tony Curtis, Ernest Borgnine, Chubby Checker,Buzz Aldrin as well as red carpet events.
