  • Like his sister, Elisabeth Shue, Andrew named his son after their late older brother, William Shue, who died at the family's summer home on Block Island, Rhode Island (off Long Island).
  • Plays soccer for the 'Los Angeles Galaxy' in the professional soccer league (aka MLS - Major League Soccer) [1996]
  • Went to Columbia High School, in Maplewood, New Jersey where he founded the Hall of Fame, which he and his sister Elisabeth Shue became members of in 1994. Zach Braff also attended Columbia High School, but at a later time. As a matter of fact, Zach lived around the corner from the Shues.
  • Younger brother of Elisabeth Shue, with whom he appeared in 1984's The Karate Kid. Andrew portrayed a Cobra Kai student who was pitted against - and lost to - Daryl Vidal of the Locust Valley Karate Club.
  • The first child of Andrew Shue, Nathaniel William, was born the 1st August 1996.
  • He lived in Zimbabwe for a year and played for the Highlanders football team. He still has a passion for Africa and in February 2004 he met with Zimbabwean filmmaker Chloe Traicos and discussed the current situation with her.

  • Brother-in-law of Davis Guggenheim, Grace Guggenheim and Jonathan Guggenheim.
  • He is the son of Anne Brewster (Wells) and James William Shue. He is of mostly German and English ancestry, with more distant Swiss-German, Scottish, and French Huguenot roots. Andrew has considerable Colonial American ancestry from his maternal grandmother, with deep roots in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
