Dexter Morgan is alive!

The 2021 revival series Dexter: New Blood ended with everyone's favorite serial killer being apparently murdered by his son, Harrison. However, the 2024 prequel series Dexter: Original Sin revealed that Dexter survived the shooting and was rushed to the hospital, where the emergency room doctors worked their magic on him. "I've experienced death so many times, but never my own," Michael C. Hall's titular character said in voice-over. "Ahh, a beating heart. I'll take it."

That brings us to Dexter: Resurrection, which has a release date of Summer 2025 on Paramount+ and Showtime. Production began in January 2025 in New York, with Hall back as the former blood spatter analyst who's now living on the run after being outed as a serial killer known as the Bay Harbor Butcher.

Development and distribution company Escapade Media, based in Australia, will launch the Revealit TV video platform at Mipcom later this month.

The 40th edition of Mipcom, the international co-production and entertainment content market, runs from Oct. 21-24 in Cannes.

“It exceeded them actually,” admits showrunner Clyde Phillips when asked whether, after all these years, bringing back the elusive fan-favorite serial killer in a limited series revival met his expectations. “I was just watching my first time going through the finale. The original “Dexter” series is a 24-time Emmy nominee and four-time winner. It prevailed for directing (Steve Shill), guest actor (John Lithgow), main title design and picture editing. Hall received five consecutive Emmy nominations in Best Drama Actor (2008-12), while the show itself earned four bids for Best Drama Series (2008-11).

Exclusive: MGM has acquired global distribution rights to the upcoming supernatural-psychological thriller series The Box, starring Anna Friel, from Shades of Blue creator Adi Hasak and Nordic Entertainment Group. Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector will cease any kind of hunt, at least on NBC, which has canceled the serial-killer-chasing drama after an abbreviated inaugural season.

NBC’s cancelation of Lincoln Rhyme, reported via Variety, was a two-birds-with-one-stone move that also saw the nixing of another freshman offering in the Bradley Whitford-headlined comedy, Perfect Harmony. While no official explanation was given for the cancelations, the move obviously occurs during a time of intrinsic uncertainty with NBC’s 2020-2021 season plans still draped in mystery as productions remain halted in the wake of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Thus, while the pandemic has become the go-to generic answer for delays and cancelations, it is, nevertheless, an unavoidable factor.

The Bradley Whitford comedy “Perfect Harmony” and Russell Hornsby-led drama “Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector” have been canceled at NBC after one season apiece, an individual familiar with the situation tells TheWrap.

“Perfect Harmony” premiered last fall and averaged a 0.6 rating among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic and 2.9 million total viewers, according to the “most current” data from Nielsen, which includes a week’s worth of delayed viewing where available. “Lincoln Rhyme” debuted in January and averaged a 0.8 in the key demo and 5.6 million viewers.

Starring Whitford and Anna Camp, “Perfect Harmony” followed former Princeton music professor Arthur Cochran (Whitford), who unexpectedly stumbles into choir practice at a small-town church and finds a group of singers “that are out of tune in more ways than one,” per its official description. “Despite the ultimate clash of sensibilities, Arthur and his newfound cohorts may just be the perfect mix...

The freshman comedy “Perfect Harmony” and the freshman drama “Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector” have both been canceled at NBC, Variety has learned from sources.

“Perfect Harmony” wrapped its one and only season in January, while “Lincoln Rhyme” ended in March.

NBC declined to comment.

The cancellations come as networks and studios are grappling with how to proceed with the fall season in the wake of the production shutdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic. NBC had already renewed a number of its current shows prior to the shutdown, including “This Is Us,” “New Amsterdam,” all three “Chicago” shows, and “Law & Order: Svu.”

NBC and ABC have not yet released their fall schedules, while Fox, The CW, and CBS have. The CW and Fox are relying heavily on acquired programming and shows held from this season. CBS thus far is the only broadcaster to commit to airing its normal fall lineup.

New members include filmmakers Lynne Ramsay, Haifaa al-Mansour, Fox Searchlight’s Kate Gardiner and Screen Scotland’s Isabel Davis.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) has revealed its 2019 intake of new members drawn from the film, TV and games industry.

Ahead of its January premiere, NBC has retitled its new midseason drama Lincoln. Now titled Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector, the drama series is inspired by Jeffery Deaver’s bestselling book series, which had been previously adapted into the 1999 movie of the same name starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie.

Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector follows former NYPD detective and forensic genius Lincoln Rhyme, played by Russell Hornsby, and his new partner, Amelia Sachs (Arielle Kebbel) in a cat-and-mouse game as they join forces to bring down a notorious serial killer. It hails from writers VJ Boyd and Mark Bianculli (S.W.A.T.), Universal Television and Sony Pictures Television, whose sibling feature studios shared distribution of the film, in association with Keshet Studios, which has deals with NBC and Uni TV.

Fans of superhero TV have much to look forward to next week when DC’s Legends of Tomorrow leaps thirty years into the future in the episode “Star City 2046.” The extended promo video, which can be viewed at the top, is evidence of comic book fantasies turned reality.

Not only will we see the team meet the Green Arrow of the future, Connor Hawke, but a grizzled Oliver Queen as well. Apparently Deathstroke is also wandering the post-apocalyptic streets, although it has yet to be confirmed what actor is under the mask. Manu Bennett has been wrapped up in other projects lately and no announcement was made concerning his reprisal of the role, so don’t be too surprised if the world’s deadliest assassin doesn’t shed his mask.

Last month, it was confirmed that fans will get to see a much different version of Arrow star Stephen Amell, who will appear as a future version of Oliver Queen in an upcoming episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, entitled Star City 2046. Last week, we caught a quick glimpse of a much older Oliver in a trailer for the episode, which airs one week from today on Thursday, February 25. Last month, we reported that Arrow star Stephen Amell will be crossing over to the new series DC's Legends of Tomorrow, portraying an old version of Oliver Queen in the year 2046. At the time, it wasn't confirmed when this episode would air, but thanks to a new synopsis, we know that the episode will air in just a few short weeks on Thursday, February 25. Recently, CW revealed the new,official synopsis/spoilers for their upcoming "The Flash" episode 5 of season 2. The episode is entitled, "The Darkness and the Light," and it turns out that we're going to see some very intense and high drama stuff go down as The Flash gets into a heavy battle with Dr. Light after she comes through the portal. The Flash gets blinded, and more! In the new, 5th episode press release: Dr. Light Comes Through The Breach. Press release number 2: Barry (Grant Gustin) is going to learn a new breacher, Dr. Light, has come through the portal and sets off to capture her. Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) will tell Barry that Dr. Light was not a threat on Earth-2 and that Barry can reason with her. However, during a fight with The Flash, she is going to blind him and drop some shocking news about Zoom.

With episode three of The Flash set to focus on Captain Cold and the fourth one revolving around the debut of a new Firestorm, the fifth instalment of The CW series’ second season will be putting the spotlight back on Earth-2. That will happen thanks to the debut of Dr. Light, a character (who is male in the comic books, but a woman in The Flash) who clearly has some history with Jay Garrick.

With the focus on Captain Cold next week and Firestorm the week after, it definitely sounds as if this instalment of The Flash is going to really put the spotlight on Earth-2 and what that's going to mean for the series moving forward. That Zoom reveal is particularly intriguing, while Dr. Light definitely sounds like a potentially very interesting addition to the series.

There’s been an interesting shift that’s taken place in Wayward Pines since the events of “The Truth.” Before the real nature of the town was revealed, so much of the drama and intrigue was based on the odd way that all of its inhabitants were behaving, with a prevailing Stepford Wives or Twilight Zone aura. Everyone in town felt as though they were making an effort to imitate real behavior, but didn’t quite grasp it beyond surface mechanics. Since the big reveal, the curtain has pulled back to reveal that the town’s inhabitants are indeed very human. And being human makes them all the more problematic: they’re not easy to control, don’t like not knowing what is going on, and are willing to fight for what they want.

For starters, we see that Green Arrow, The Atom, and Hawkgirl (who is going to be introduced in the upcoming Arrow/The Flash spinoff) are all protecting Starling City between them, while the future Barry Allen and Iris West are a married couple! Who knows how much of what's in the newspaper will come to pass - Reverse-Flash may have inadvertently created a new timeline - but here's hoping this means "The Arrow...

Recently, CW released these new, official spoiler pictures for their upcoming "The Flash" episode 20 of season 1, and they reveal new look scenes that feature main characters: Barry, Cisco, Iris, Joe, Eddie and more, doing their thing. The episode is labeled, "The Trap." The official synopsis for episode 20, reads like this: "Barry, Caitlin, Cisco and Joe are going to set a trap for Wells. Is Eddie's (Rick Cosnett) first name really Eobard? Or is he just referring to the fact that he and Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) share a last name?
