Lucy Sheen, stage name. Originally known as Chau Lai-Tuen until the finalisation of her transracial adoption was legally granted in the early 60s. Lucy born on the British Crown colony of Hong Kong and also abandoned there shortly after her birth. She was adopted by a white growing up in the heartland of conservative England, next to the cucumber sandwiches, church spires and cricket on the village green. Lucy trained at The Rose Bruford School of Speech & Drama graduating in 1984. Her first professional film role was the lead in British feature film Ping Pong (1986). She is best known for Secrets & Lies, Business as Usual, The Good Neighbour, Nighty Night series 2, Call Then Midwife, Casualty, Shadow & Bone and The Witcher. As well as many stage appearances. Lucy is a published writer, poet and playwright. 2019 she began directing professionally mainly stage works. She has also been the casting director on two award winning short films. Lucy's own work takes its inspiration from her personal background. concerning identity, perception. Lucy is also a founding member of the advocacy group Beats.org
