    • Johnny Sekka was born on July 21, 1934 in Dakar, Senegal. He was an actor, known for Le message (1976), Babylon 5 (1993) and Chapeau melon et bottes de cuir (1961). He was married to Cecilia Enger. He died on September 14, 2006 in Agua Dulce, California, USA.

Trivia

  • Upon his 1952 arrival in Britain, he joined the RAF, serving for two years. He then trained at Rada for a year while paying his fees working in coffee bars in the evenings. After writing to George Devine, the Artistic Director of the English Stage Company at the Royal Court Theatre, he was hired as a stagehand.
  • Initial British film roles in the 60s were further up the credits list but stereotypical in nature (butlers, servants, etc.) Later came to the US and played more quality (doctors), albeit minor, characters.
  • He played a butler in the racially-charged British movie drama, La femme de paille (1964), with Ralph Richardson, Gina Lollobrigida and Sean Connery.
  • African support actor (born in Senegal) who received his start on the late 50s London stage.
  • Member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Actors Branch).
