After Storm voice actor Alison Sealy-Smith and Rogue voice actor Lenore Zann both previously expressed their desire for an animated X-Men ‘97 movie, another of their co-stars has jumped on the bandwagon. Starring in the role of Gambit in X-Men ‘97 is A.J. LoCasio, who is also famous for voicing Han Solo in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Gambit may have met an unfortunate fate in X-Men ‘97 Season 1, but that doesn’t mean LoCasio is ready to say goodbye to the card-dealing mutant.
Collider’s Maggie Lovitt recently caught up with LoCasio to promote his new book, and she asked for his thoughts on continuing Gambit’s story with an animated X-Men movie. He admits that he “saw Lenore say something” and that the Rogue actress “has been talking about that for a while.” He continued, expressing his desire to do more but also not wanting to overwhelm...

Not long after X-Men ‘97’s Alison Sealy-Smith expressed interest in doing an animated X-Men movie, one of her beloved co-stars has joined her in her desires. One of the original X-Men: The Animated Series stars to return and reprise her role in the 2024 continuation was Lenore Zann, who voices Rogue in the show. Zann’s voice performance as Rogue was hailed by fans and critics alike for its powerful emotion and delightful charm.
Collider’s Maggie Lovitt recently moderated a panel for Zann at FanX's Tampa Bay Comic Convention, and after briefly dishing on what she’d like to see from whoever takes over the mantle of Rogue in live-action, Zann joined Sealy-Smith, who plays Storm in X-Men ‘97, in showing interest in doing an animated X-Men movie:
“Oh, an X-Men animated feature film would be fantastic. I think people would love that.”

The kids will probably be alright in Marvel's future X-Men adaptation.
Per The Playlist, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige offered a brief tease of what director Jake Schreier's upcoming take on Mutantkind will look like when its new X-Men team members are introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "Jake’s going to make a youth-focused reboot, he revealed, adding, "That may be reflected in mutant castings, and it'll definitely be felt in the tone and perspective of the film."
While it remains to be seen which X-Men characters will be selected for the MCU, Schreier -- who previously helmed Marvel's critically, albeit not commercially successful film Thunderbolts* -- discussed what he most looks forward to exploring in the X-Men's neverending battles against supervillains and human prejudice. To Schreier, "The core idea of what 'X-Men' is involves complexity. It's an incredible opportunity with super interesting characters and [much] internal conflict.

San Diego Comic-Con attendees got a pleasant surprise when the next two characters joining the Marvel Cosmic Invasion roster were revealed, and they're not characters that most fans would expect. Cosmic Invasion is an upcoming retro-style beat 'em up game, similar to arcade games from the 80s and 90s, like Double Dragon and Streets of Fury. The game will feature a total of 15 playable characters, and now, 11 have been confirmed.
According to a post from PR Agency Indigo Pearl, the next two characters joining Marvel Cosmic Invasion's roster are The Silver Surfer and Beta Ray Bill. The announcement was made by the game's developer and publisher at the event, along with a new trailer.

X-Men ‘97 lit the world on fire last year on its way to becoming the highest-rated Marvel project ever, despite not taking place in the MCU. The show earned a nearly flawless 99% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and even a strong 91% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. One aspect of the hit series that earned widespread acclaim was its voice cast, some of whom, like Lenore Zann and Cal Dodd, returned to continue their roles from X-Men: The Animated Series, with others like Holly Chou coming on as newcomers.
Another returning star for X-Men ‘97 that blew fans away once again was Alison Sealy-Smith, who voices Storm. Collider’s Maggie Lovitt recently moderated a panel for Sealy-Smith at FanX in Atlanta, and while the X-Men actor didn’t seem too keen to put her hat into the ring to play Storm in live-action, she did confirm she’d like to work on a “full-length,...

Following their success on streaming, X-Men '97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man are getting a limited TV run.
Beginning tonight, Comicbook.com reported that both hit Disney+ series will air on Fxx this week, with both shows' season finales premiering on July 4. Two episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and X-Men '97's first seasons will drop per day between the hours of 5-7 Pm, though it remains to be seen if Disney will let either series air reruns afterward.
Released last year, X-Men '97 served as a direct continuation of the beloved X-Men: The Animated Series, following the 90s X-Men roster as they grapple with the loss of Charles Xavier, anti-Mutant hate groups, and Magneto's takeover as team leader. Featuring most of the cartoon's original voice cast, X-Men '97 received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences, even beating Ms. Marvel to become the highest rated Marvel show on Rotten Tomatoes.

What do we want in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? We want mutants, and more importantly, the X-Men! When are we getting it?! No one knows.
We’ve seen clues of mutants' inevitable to the MCU arrival in the Multiverse Saga through titles such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Marvels, Ms. Marvel, and more. However, other than the past actors from 20th Century Fox X-Men franchise appearing in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, there hasn’t been confirmation of when we’ll see Marvel’s Mightiest Mutants taking center stage. Sadly, this won’t be an article that gives hope for an upcoming mutant-led project.
Although Marvel Studios Preisdent Kevin Feige previously revealed that the "Mutants Era" would be the next chapter of the MCU that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be titled "The Mutants Saga". And now, a new report has cast doubt on just...

Yesterday, we reported on a rumor that Scream star Neve Campbell had been cast as Polaris in an upcoming Marvel project. We didn't have much more to go on initially, but it was assumed that she would wither play the character in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, or appear in Avengers: Doomsday alongside the returning 20th Century Fox era actors.
A trusted source later reached out to tell us that Campbell would actually be voicing Polaris in season 2 of the X-Men '97 animated series, which former showrunner Beau DeMayo has now confirmed.
Incorrect. I cast her as Polaris in Season 2 of #xmen97. She does amazing work bringing something new, and felt right to have a 90s icon pick up where Lorna’s story was left in “Cold Comfort.”

If you’re a fan of Daredevil: Born Again, there are a few shows that are fun to check out!
Fans of Daredevil are loving the return of the Man Without Fear via Daredevil: Born Again. The revival of the Netflix series has Charlie Cox once more playing Matt Murdock and his costumed alter ego in a show that already boasts some wild twists and turns.
Obviously, fans will have likely checked out other Netflix Marvel shows, such as Jessica Jones, The Punisher, The Defenders, and others. Maybe even She-Hulk: Attorney at Law which had Cox guest starring. However, there are a few shows out there that can appeal to Daredevil fans. While some are superhero shows, others are unique takes on a crime saga while also boasting action heroes with a mystical edge. If you love Daredevil: Born Again, make way for these ten shows to feel that same fun vibe!

X-Men ‘97 was one of last year’s breakout hits, tapping into the nostalgia of the original series, while also modernizing it and adapting it with great success. Unfortunately, it has disappointingly been announced that fans still have a while to wait before Season 2 gets here.
Per ComicBook.com, Marvel’s head animation honcho, Brad Winderbaum, has confirmed that the acclaimed series won’t be returning for its sophomore season until 2026. "Season 2 of X-Men ’97 is going to be in ’26. We’re working on it now. It’s exciting," explained Winderbaum, who is the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel. The news comes as a tremendous disappointment to fans, as it means they will have to wait nearly two full years for the resolution to Season 1’s cliffhangers.

Late last year, a rumor did the rounds that the highly-anticipated second season of X-Men '97 wouldn't premiere until 2026, and the lengthy wait has now been confirmed by Marvel's Brad Winderbaum.
"Season 2 of X-Men ‘97 is going to be in ‘26. We're working on it now," Winderbaum tells Collider. "It's exciting. That world of the ‘90s is just… Honestly, I can't believe they let me make it. I grew up at Marvel, as you know, clocked a lot of time here, and I feel like I used a lot of currency to revive this thing that I loved watching after school. So, the fact that we get to play in that universe with those actors is honestly why I went into this business in the first place."
When asked if we could expect more animated shows - and possibly a feature - to be announced soon, Winderbaum played it a little closer to the vest.

It seems that fans of X-Men '97 now know when they will see the animated Marvel show return, but it is not going to be as soon as expected. While many fans believed that the new season would roll out this year, Marvel Studios exec Brad Winderbaum revealed in an interview with Collider that Season 2 will not hit Disney+ until 2026. Colonel Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is easily one of the most recognizable faces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He led the Avengers and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with an open hand of direction and a clenched fist of strength. If a parent or guardian of a young Black man or woman needed an example of a comic role model, Nick Fury would no doubt be a seminal choice.
He's bold, wise, and a leader of humanity. These are the stunning members of the Marvel Comics Universe who we have been privileged to watch every month, including Black History Month in February. Indeed, a few others in Marvel come to mind. The mighty names of the comic pantheon from Marvel--Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, John Romita, Jack Kirby--knew diversity and inclusion was the key to an entire and colorful universe.

Loki is one of those shows that can’t quite fit into one genre. Yes, it’s a Disney Plus series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it is so much more than that.
The TV series includes time travel, alternate worlds, saving universes, and so much character development that it’s hard to find something just as good. This is a story where the villain becomes the hero, continuing a journey started before his death.
With the series now seemingly at an end, there’s no doubt that you want to find something else to watch. Here are five great shows to check out next, and not all of them are Marvel!

Anticipation is building for the X-Men's arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The legendary mutants have been an integral part of comic book history for decades, and they made the jump to the big screen in 2000 with 20th Century Fox's game-changing movie series that ran for almost two decades. But now, they are slowly making their way to the biggest movie franchise of all time.
Marvel Studios is actively developing an X-Men movie in the MCU. Beau DeMayo, who initially led as the showrunner and head writer for X-Men ’97, parted ways with Marvel Animation before finishing the second season. According to Marvel Studios, he was fired due to allegations of sexual misconduct. However, DeMayo claims that his dismissal was retaliation for calling out racist and unethical behavior within the studio.
DeMayo has made several serious accusations against Marvel Studios. One of DeMayo’s most striking allegations involves the casting of Storm. In addition to giving a supporting role to a variant of X-Man Ororo Munroe/Storm, with Alison Sealy-Smith again voicing the character she famously portrays in X-Men: The Animated Series and its acclaimed sequel, X-Men ’97, the season makes several references, both overt and subtle, to other characters and concepts from the X-Men lore. With the arrival of the third and final season of the multiverse-driven Marvel Cinematic Universe series What If…?, a series with infinite possibilities, it begs the question — why stop now? With Season 1 mostly being familiar settings within the MCU altered slightly, Season 2 really felt like the gloves were off, and the episodes started living up to the name of the series. Now Season 3 gets to dive even further into the titular concept with inclusions of new fan favorites like Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), an Avengers lineup with mech suits, introducing brand-new characters like Kahhori (Devery Jacobs) and Byrdie (Natasha Lyonne), and even including a variant of an animated X-Men fan favorite, Storm (Alison Sealy-Smith). With the series feeling like it's just found its footing, it's a shame to see such a fun concept come to a conclusion.

With Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell) and The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) captured, The Eminence (Jason Isaacs) might believe he’s won. However, a superteam of Kahhori (Devery Jacobs), Thunder God Storm (Alison Sealy-Smith), Byrdie The Duck (Natasha Lyonne), and Infinity Ultron are not letting their friends die without a fight. “What If…What If?” serves as the finale for the Marvel Animation show. With plenty of spectacle and heart, it’s a fitting farewell, even if the series still has plenty of gas in the tank.

The series finale of What If...? opens by taking us back to the day The Watcher was inducted into the order by the Eminence. It's made clear to him that, to watch over everyone, he must become no one. After questioning the point of only watching, The Watcher vows to never fail...but, as we know, he did.
In the present, he's labelled a heretic but defends his actions; The Watcher wants to help the Multierse grow and Steve Rogers, Reed Richards, and Madisynn Variants are mentioned as being among those he's saved.
The Eminence, Incarnate, and Executioner care nothing about people and, just as they're about to kill The Watcher, Infinity Ultron intervenes. He holds them off while the heroic cosmic being escapes alongside Captain Carter, Kahhori, Byrdie, and Storm, but is destroyed.

They are finally here!
Ever since it was announced Disney completed the acquisition of 21st Century Fox, us Marvel fans have had the same question in mind: When will the Mutants get to share the screen with other Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes? Well, that day is finally here ladies and gentlemen.
Now, I know it all technically began when Logan and Wade Wilson shared the big screen alongside many other Mutants such as Cassandra Nova and Pyro. And if we're being even more technical, Ms. Marvel was revealed to be a Mutant in her stand-alone series way before Deadpool & Wolverine was released. Nonetheless, What If...? Season 3 episode 7 further cemented the idea that Mutants are finally here by featuring Storm teaming up with the likes of Peggy Carter. The best part? It's all we could've asked for.

What If...? season 3's penultimate episode opens by revisiting the reality inhabited by the Nebula from season 2 (who is now Xandar's "Nova Prime"). The interdimensional tentacle monster from previous seasons is attacking the planet but Captain Carter, Kahhori, Byrdie - the daughter of Howard the Duck and Darcy - and a Mjolnir-wielding Storm intervene.
Peggy kills the monster we first saw her face in season 1 and, moments later, the shards from the Observational Plane, shattered when the Eminence captured The Watcher, land nearby.
New opening credits reveal that the Eminence, Incarnate, and Executioner watch the Watchers and, with The Watcher captured, it's made clear that they now have no other choice but to intervene and undo his past actions.
Aboard Byrdie's ship, a foosball table features players with the likeness of characters such as Wolverine, Galactus, Rogue, Kang, and Beta Ray Bill.

Closing episode 6, “What If…1872?,” The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) found himself in some trouble. After being pushed into the multi-dimensional wall by The Eminence, shards of the multiverse flew through space. He’s broken his oath several times throughout What If…, but this is the first time The Watcher has found himself in trouble. Luckily, “What If…The Watcher disappeared?” returns one of his closest allies: Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell). With her team of superheroes at her side, Carter makes a plan to find her friend and save him by any means necessary. “The Watcher Disappeared” clears the field for an excellent finale while giving us plenty of fan-favorite returns and surprises.

What If...? has been something of a mixed bag from the start, though that first season was mostly excellent. We could have lived without Party Thor, for example, but the debuts of Captain Carter, T'Challa Star-Lord, and Strange Supreme still rank among the best episodic television we've seen from Marvel Studios. Season 2 wasn't quite as good, with some episodes stretching the premise a little too thin ("What If... Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?") and others that were downright bad ("What If... Iron Man Crashed into the Grandmaster?"). Season 3, in comparison, is largely disappointing with few bright spots to make up for storytelling seemingly running on fumes.
No longer a show exploring how one small change could alter everything, What If...?'s latest batch of episodes instead takes us to a series of weird and wacky realities where it feels like the mandate was to cram in as many Phase 4 and 5 characters as possible.

Developing an animated TV show takes a lot of time, so What If...? was never going to perfectly sync up with what's happening in the live-action MCU. However, the lack of mutants in season 3 has disappointed many fans.
The inclusion of a Storm Variant (voiced by X-Men '97 star Alison Sealy-Smith) suggests it could be done. Alas, the Goddess of Thunder will be the only character with the X-Gene who factors into the series during its final year on Disney+.
During a recent interview with Agents of Fandom, What If...? director Bryan Andrews admitted that not being able to include more members of the X-Men ranks among his biggest regrets.
"In hindsight, I think we were kicking ourselves because, you know, it takes a while to set these things up and do these things," he explained. "But it’s like we could have done more mutants this season, oh my gosh what the heck,...

X-Men '97 unlocked a wealth of new characters for the MCU. The mutants would have returned sooner than Season 2, as wild multiverse variants in What If…? Season 3.
Episode director Bryan Andrews said he regretted not including more X-Men in What If…? Season 3. They already had access to the IP during production, but they were concerned the X-Men's appearance would ruin Marvel Studios' release strategy. Speaking to Phase Hero, he recalled everyone was ecstatic over Storm's episode, but later realized they could have also used other X-Men characters. "What's funny is, because X-Men '97 would've been out already, so that gave us access to her, but technically, that gave us access to any of those X-Men if we wanted to," he explained. "And in hindsight, we're totally kicking ourselves, because they're so worried and concerned about making sure things come out when they're supposed to come out."

As we look ahead to the new year, Disney+ is gearing up to release exciting new content for its global audience. We're talking about shows such as Goosebumps: The Vanishing, Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again and Andor season 2. However, for various reasons, there are some Disney+ shows that won't be returning with additional installments in the new year.
It could be because they were billed as miniseries, meaning that they were designed to conclude after only one season, which wrapped up this year. Another reason for them not returning could be that they won't be finished with the filmmaking process in time to make a 2025 release. There are also some Disney+ shows that won't be back next year because they ended or were canceled this year. Whatever the reason for them not returning, we're definitely going to miss them!

Two Thunderbolts* stars are getting a team up early in What If...?'s final season, though it wasn't entirely by design.
Speaking with ScreenRant about season 3's episodes, director Bryan Andrews broke down What If...?'s upcoming Winter Soldier/Red Guardian storyline and why it took so long for this episode to drop. Originally, he explained, it was "supposed to be in season 2, and it got moved to season 3 late in the game because there was another episode that got done early. Brad [Winderbaum] wanted to swap them out for a reason, and he was like, 'It's going to be great.' Which is hilarious because now it's creating this weird serendipity with the Thunderbolts* coming up."

As the multiverse saga unfolded across the live-action Marvel universe, a consistent complaint started to find its footing. For all the creativity that a multiverse allows, Marvel rarely pushed its ideas beyond surface-level concepts. While Doctor Strange and Loki felt like half-measures, What If… explored the oddities at the edges of the multiverse. The animated series pushes Marvel to embrace truly weird and different universes — worlds where Hulks fight like Godzilla, Shang Chi ends up in a Western, and Agatha Harkness is a Hollywood starlet. In its final season, What If… highlights a new generation of stars but feels like it’s leaving a bit of its promise behind with an early wrap-up.

What If...? season 3 director Bryan Andrews opens up about the final season of the Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show. After three seasons of following The Watcher and his exploration of the multiverse, What If...? is getting ready to wrap up its story with the final eight-episode run premiering on December 22. Episodes will release daily through December 29, just in time to close out 2024. What If...? season 3 also acts as the final Marvel TV show for 2024, while also being the animated series that paved way for other animation within Marvel Studios.
What If...? season 3 taps into the larger multiverse as it visits alternative takes of some of the most popular MCU heroes and villains, but where things played out very differently from Earth-616. Some of the big new debuts that are coming up include the MCU introduction of Storm, with none other than X-Men '97's own Alison Sealy-Smith playing a new take on the mutant heroine.

Disney's approach to marketing Marvel Animation's streaming offering often makes them feel like something of an afterthought - the first What If...? season 3 trailer was only released a month ago - but the hype is slowly building for the Multiversal series.
In this latest 30-second sneak peek, we hear Storm speak (X-Men: The Animated Series and X-Men '97 star Alison Sealy-Smith reprises the role here) as several new Variants are teased.
Among them are Thanos, White Vision, Kingo, Shang-Chi, and more. We were told a while ago that the series would start throwing Phase 5 characters into the mix and Marvel Studios has made good on that promise.
Also of note is the fact we get to hear those other Watchers talk; will Uatu be forced to pay for his role in assembling the Guardians of the Multiverse and his continued interference? If so, here's hoping that story continues into Avengers: Doomsday.

Also of note is the fact we get to hear those other Watchers talk; will Uatu be forced to pay for his role in assembling the Guardians of the Multiverse and his continued interference? If so, here's hoping that story continues into Avengers: Doomsday.

Avengers go Gundam in a brand new look at What If...? season 3.
Released to The Hollywood Handle's YouTube page, this exclusive clip sees Sam Wilson's Captain America and Monica Rambeau piloting two giant mechs as they follow a group of massive kaiju-sized creatures in a frozen setting. An even larger monster soon joins the creatures -- dubbed an "Apex" by Wilson -- whom they quickly kneel before, prompting him to realize "This isn't an infestation. It's an invasion." The monsters then begin their descent into the ocean, but not before unleashing a shockwave roar that knocks both mech suits off their feet.

The God of Thunder is on his way back to screens, and not a moment too soon. Yes, Chris Hemsworth's regal warrior has been a fixture of our lives for well over a decade at this point and, as one of the few remaining original Avengers with an active role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's always a treat to see him pop up. And, much as we have with Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton in Hawkeye and all of the guest appearances that Mark Ruffalo's Hulk continues to make, you can't help but appreciate every moment with them as you never know when the veteran superheroes will hang up their capes/hammers/bow-and-arrows.
We last saw Hemsworth's Thor in 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder. That film was well-received by critics at the time, but as time has gone on, its reputation has gotten worse. The reason for that is the fan response,...

One of the original Avengers will return to the MCU later this month, but perhaps not in the way you’re expecting (or hoping for). It seems that Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, will reportedly reprise the beloved Marvel character in the upcoming third and final season of the animated anthology series, What If...?, which is due to debut on Disney+ on December 22, 2024.
According to The Direct, Marvel Studios has now revealed the cast list for What If...? Season 3, and Chris Hemsworth is on the list, meaning we will finally see more from the actor as Thor following the release of the largely panned Thor: Love and Thunder back in 2022.
Hemsworth has provided the voice of Thor in What If...? several times before, and while details of which episode he will feature in this time around remain under wraps, his Thor co-stars Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, Tessa Thompson, who stars as Valkyrie,...

The following contains spoilers for Agatha All Along, now streaming on Disney+.
Agatha All Along ended on a more small-scale note, but for Kathryn Hahn, that's what made it work.
In a Los Angeles Times profile, Hahn talked about her extensive acting portfolio and how she entered the world of Marvel through Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and WandaVision, leading to her acclaimed Agatha Harkness spinoff. The series concluded with both a flashback detailing Agatha's tragic relationship with her son Nicholas Sparks and a tease of her ghostly future alongside Billy Maximoff, with Hahn joking she's "blessedly" unaware of reactions to the finale despite recently starting an Instagram page. Yet she praised the quality of the finale, loving "how subversive and radical it felt to have an ending, especially a big Marvel show, be that small and tender and have this little beating heart."
