- Was the first Literary Agent to specialize in Science Fiction with clients such as Ray Bradbury, 'H.P Lovecraft', Robert Bloch, Manly Wade Wellman and just about everyone who founded the field.
- Daughter: Jeanie (deceased 1989), Several Grandchildren and several Great-Grandchildren who call him "Super-Grandpa" due to his 50 plus year association with DC Comics and specifically, SUPERMAN.
- He was a great aficionado of New Orleans Dixieland Jazz, frequenting Preservation Hall. He was also an accomplished competetion Bridge player.
- Member of First Fandom of Comics, not to be confused with First Fandom of Science Fiction. The two organizations are similar but have seperate memberships and requirements for being a member.
