We've already had a first official look at Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and Lanterns. Unfortunately, neither sneak peek showcased the costumes Kara Zor-El, Hal Jordan, and John Stewart will wear in their respective corners of the Dcu.
You can find those teasers here and here if you missed them, but set photos from both upcoming DC Studios projects have found their way online today.
While they're not overly revealing, we do get to see the American Heartland that Lanterns is set in. We expect the series to have plenty of cosmic elements, though it's certainly going to be pretty unique watching Sector 2814's Green Lantern Corps members suit up and head into action here.
As for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, some armoured costumes have been spotted from afar. Due to the low quality of these snaps, it's hard to say who or what they might belong to. Krem of the...

DC fans everywhere are eager to see the first look at Jason Momoa as Lobo, but we're going to have to wait a while. After playing Aquaman in the Dceu, brought to life by Zack Snyder, Momoa will finally have the chance to suit up as his dream character in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow opposite Milly Alcock’s Kryptonian hero. Momoa was tapped to the role of Lobo, and although the 2026 tentpole is well over halfway through filming, there has still been no official look at Momoa’s Lobo released to the public. During a recent interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub to promote his upcoming Minecraft movie with Jack Black, Momoa played coy and declined to share a photo of himself as Lobo that is on his phone, but not for lack of desire:
"I wish I could show you the picture on my phone right now."

Filming on director Craig Gillespie and DC Studios' Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has been underway in London since late January, but sets are only now being constructed for exterior scenes, and we have our first look thanks to @UnBoxPHD.
The photo isn't exactly very revealing, but it does give us a glimpse of something being built for the shoot. It's difficult to make out any details, but there's speculation that it could be some sort of Kryptonian (Kandorian?) space-craft.
With any luck, we'll get to see star Milly Alcock suited-up as the Girl of Steel as production continues. For now, the House of Dragon alum has shared a first look at her character from upcoming Netflix series, Sirens, which is set to hit the streamer this May.

Jason Momoa's time as the Dceu's Arthur Curry ended when Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was released at the end of 2023. That movie also marked the end of the Dceu itself, with the shared world's final moment showing Ocean Master eating a cockroach.
Even before the Aquaman sequel was released, there was chatter about Momoa taking on the role of Lobo in DC Studios' Dcu. Fans started losing hope as the months went by but James Gunn confirmed last December that the Minecraft star will transform into the Main Man for next summer's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Lobo is only expected to play a small supporting role in the movie but, talking to ComicBook.com, the actor confirmed that one iconic element of the character will remain when he makes the leap from the page to the big screen.

2023 was a disastrous final 12 months for the Dceu. For many moviegoers, Black Adam was the straw that broke the camel's back and Warner Bros.' decision to begin the year by unveiling DC Studios plans for a Dcu reboot made it clear Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom didn't matter.
Each of those movies underperformed and even the Aquaman sequel failed to make a splash anywhere near as big as its 2018 predecessor (it grossed over $1.1 billion compared to the follow-up's $439.4 million).
In the weeks leading up to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's release, it became clear that Jason Momoa's time as the King of Atlantis had ended. There was some vague chatter about him perhaps playing Lobo in the Dcu but, as time passed, it started looking like James Gunn and Peter Safran had no intention of bringing him back into the fold.

Just three years after The Hunger Games movies concluded with Mockingjay: Part 2, Jennifer Lawrence reunited with director Francis Lawrence for the underrated spy thriller, Red Sparrow. The film will begin streaming on Hulu from April 1.
Based on Jason Matthews' novel of the same name, Red Sparrow stars Lawrence as Dominika Egorova, a beautiful Russian prima ballerina who finds her promising future come crashing down around her after she suffers an injury that ends her career. The spy movie's plot then sees Dominika becoming a Russian intelligence officer known as a Sparrow. She is later sent to find a CIA officer and uncover the identity of a mole within the organization.
As a Sparrow, Lawrence's character is trained to use her mind and body as a weapon, and she excels and becomes a fiercely deadly Russian agent. When she meets CIA operative Nate Nash (Joel Edgerton), the two form a complex...

Jason Momoa wasn’t kidding when he said playing the comic book character Lobo was a top priority for him. In a new post on X, DC Studios co-chief James Gunn revealed the text Momoa sent him when it was announced in fall 2022 that Gunn and Peter Safran would be heading up the Warner Bros. superhero division. The text was simple: “Fucking Lobo.”
“Dude, I’ve said you should be Lobo for years. No lie,” Gunn wrote back to the actor at the time.
In sharing the text exchange, Gunn now wrote: “On the anniversary of Lobo, I can’t help but think of a text I received from Jason Momoa on the morning it was announced Peter & I were the heads of DC Studios — the day Jason & I first discussed him joining the Dcu as Lobo. Four people in a villa in the south of Italy, spending their summer harbouring a complex relationship of desire and jealousy, already seems like a delicious story to put on screen. Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino’s A Bigger Splash (2015) offers us exactly that. With lush visuals filled with rock and roll music and naked bodies floating in the Mediterranean, “A Bigger Splash” becomes a seductive take on the psychosexual exploration of desire and loss.
It tells the story of a renowned rock star, Marianne (Tilda Swinton), who temporarily becomes mute due to an operation on her vocal cords. She, along with her partner, Paul (Matthias Schoenaerts), a documentary filmmaker, is spending a quiet life on the island of Pantelleria. Their life seems to go smoothly until one day, Harry (Ralph Fiennes), a record producer and Marianne’s ex, arrives to spend his vacation in the same place with his twenty-something daughter,...

DC Studios co-head James Gunn says working on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has been "an extraordinary experience so far." This comes after MCU star Sebastian Stan shared his excitement for the Dcu film.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrowis already turning heads, even with the fact that James Gunn's first Dcu movie is months away from release. While we know production is already underway for the upcoming addition to the Dcu, Gunn has been keeping the details of the project under lock and key, with only a still of the back of Milly Alcok's head to hold fans over until a bigger teaser. Even Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes in the MCU, has voiced his unbridled excitement for the upcoming DC film. So, when is Gunn finally going to loosen the reigns a bit?
While little is known about the upcoming Supergirl film, it seems that's been Gunn's intention this entire time. Sure, we know that the film will be about Kara Zor-El's origin story and will include former Aquaman actor, Jason Momoa, as the antagonist Lobo, an alien from the utopian planet...

It's been confirmed that an hourlong DC Studios presentation with co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran did indeed take place last week, and Cinema Blend was on hand to ask the Superman director about casting Jason Momoa as Lobo.
He was a surprise addition to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and the expectation is that Momoa will eventually headline a spin-off. The actor is best known for playing the Dceu's Aquaman but the Scourge o' the Cosmos should be different enough to avoid any confusion.
Asked when we're likely to get a first look at Momoa's transformation into Lobo, Gunn said, "It's probably going to be a while to be frank with you, because it's all in outer space. With Superman, we were sort of forced because we knew we were going to shoot outside for weeks. Like, 'Oh, let's just throw something out there.' So we did."

Austria can celebrate a huge success as a filming location thanks in large part to attractive funding programs that have lured major international productions to the country, among them Guy Ritchie’s “Fountain of Youth” and Jaume Collet-Serra’s “Cliffhanger” reboot, while also boasting a strong lineup of local works at this year’s Berlin Film Festival.
Introduced in 2023, the incentives, known as Fisa Plus and ÖFI Plus, can cover as much as 60% of costs for international film productions.
In addition to magnificent natural landscapes, medieval towns and striking cities, a new state-of-the-art studio complex in Vienna now offers a comprehensive range of services to support productions in the Austrian capital.

Charlize Theron’s immortal mercenary Andy will return in The Old Guard 2 on Netflix. Nearly five years after the first film, the streamer has finally announced a release date for the film. The first film, The Old Guard, was released in 2020 and was a viewership hit for Netflix. The critical acclaim and popularity of the film resulted in a sequel being greenlit.
According to reports, the sequel starring Theron completed filming in 2022, but it went to development hell due to a delay in post-production. Despite the troubles, Theron was confident that her film would see the light of day. Last year, she announced that the film had resumed its post-production works.

Despite the chaos of a global pandemic and impending presidential elections, The Old Guard was one of Netflix's biggest releases in 2020. Based on the graphic novel by Greg Rucka, the film followed a group of centuries-old immortals dedicated to helping others — an undeniably appealing pitch in the current socio-political climate. But when the secret of their existence is discovered, the group must evade capture and fight to protect themselves, all while training the newest addition to their squad along the way. Starring Charlize Theron (with her best haircut since Atomic Blonde) as Andromache the Scythian, alongside an ensemble cast including KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, and Luca Marinelli, The Old Guard is a surprisingly heartwarming and compellingly gory action flick — complete with a cliffhanger ending that has left audiences on the edge of their seats for five years and counting.

The Charlize Theron action film The Old Guard was a hit for the Netflix streaming service when it was released in 2020. Directed by Roar Uthaug, the Norwegian creature feature Troll was another success for Netflix when it was released in December 2022. Both of those movies are now getting sequels that are expected to reach Netflix by the end of 2025, when The Old Guard 2 heading for a July 2nd release and Troll 2 not yet having a release date – and Netflix decided to start building the hype for both of them today, releasing a clip from Troll 2 that can be seen in the embed above and a behind-the-scenes look at the stunts of The Old Guard 2, which can be found at the bottom of this article.
Troll had the following synopsis: Deep inside the mountain of Dovre, something gigantic awakens after being trapped for a thousand years. Destroying everything in its path,...

Soon after revealing its long-awaited release date, Netflix fed The Old Guard 2 fans another exciting piece of news in the form of a behind-the-scenes montage. The sequel completed production in late 2022, and after several unforeseen setbacks, the film will finally arrive on the streamer on Jul. 2, 2025. Starring Charlize Theron as Andromache of Scythia, The Old Guard follows a group of immortal mercenaries and is based on a comic book series created by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández. The upcoming sequel will feature a bevy of returning cast members, as well as several exciting additions.
Netflix released behind-the-scenes footage of The Old Guard 2 featuring the insane number of stunts from the highly-anticipated sequel. Theron, among several other returning cast members, can be seen performing some hard-hitting action sequences. No stranger to performing the majority of the stunt work herself, it's no shock Theron continues to do her own stunts.

Netflix releases hundreds of new original projects every year, and some stick the landing and become incredibly popular, while others fade out of the spotlight and are mostly forgotten. One Netflix original that certainly did not lose a spot in the zeitgeist was The Old Guard, the 2020 R-rated action thriller led by Charlize Theron that also stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Luca Marinelli. Netflix announced in 2021 that The Old Guard 2 was in the works, and although it's been five years since the release of the original, news on the sequel has been largely quiet, until today. The streamer has released new behind-the-scenes stunt footage from The Old Guard 2 and also confirmed that the film will premiere on Netflix on July 2 later this year.

DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn recently shared our first official look at Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow via a behind-the-scenes image, and if you're familiar with Tom King's acclaimed DC Comics miniseries of the same name, the setting of the photo will likely have looked very familiar.
The shot features star Milly Alcock in a hoodie (Kara will almost certainly be in-costume for this scene in the movie), facing what looks a lot like a bar counter. In the Woman of Tomorrow comic, the Girl of Steel and her companion, Ruthye, take a little break from their revenge mission and travel to a space-bar for a drink.
Here, Kara is confronted by an alien who blames her for her cousin Superman imprisoning his brothers in the Phantom Zone. As you might expect, the altercation doesn't work out so well for the instigator.

According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH (via Toonado.com), 14-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift is being eyed for the lead role of Rapunzel. That doesn't mean she's in talks for the movie or even interested but the singer is someone the House of Mouse is interested in.

James Gunn, now co-ceo of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran, is shaking up the superhero scene with bold moves, including the exciting announcement of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow for the revamped DC Universe. The new DC Universe aims to reset the narrative with Gunn’s clear vision. This time he is going to feature a long-overdue spotlight on Supergirl alongside other anticipated projects.
While Supergirl isn’t as iconic as Superman, her journey has often been overlooked in the DC Universe. The 1984 Supergirl movie flopped both critically and financially, and although the CW’s Supergirl series ran for six successful seasons, it was just tailored for TV. This left fans craving for a cinematic portrayal of Supergirl. Now, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow offers a chance to give Kara Zor-El her long-deserved justice.

James Gunn and Peter Safran have decided to restart the DC Universe once they were named co-CEOs of DC Studios. The decision includes rebooting several stories already told but also focusing on some comic book characters that didn't get the same exposure.
Although The CW treated Supergirl with her own standalone TV series in the Arrowverse, The character was created in 1959, and, since then, she appeared in several live-action projects, including 1984's Supergirl, and the shows Smallville and The Flash. The character will have a standalone film in the Dcu, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which has just received the first look at the project on Instagram, which is currently filming.

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s the back of Supergirl’s head! Before Friday arrives to save us from other days that end in “Y,” James Gunn is blowing up his social media spaces with the first look at Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
The image features Milly Alcock sitting in a folding chair with the “symbol for hope” stenciled on the back. She’s comfy in a dark hoodie and looks at a brightly lit city street, almost like she’s resting in an intergalactic diner. While the image fails to show Kara’s super suit, it’s worth noting that Kara slums it up a bit in the story the film is based on, written by Tom King.

Earlier this week, we got word on two late casting additions for DC Studios' Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, with David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) and Emily Beecham (Into The Badlands) joining the production.
The original report only mentioned that Krumholtz and Beecham would play "Supergirl's parents," but didn't clarify if they'd been cast as Kara's biological mother and father Alura and Zor-El, or her human adoptive parents, Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers.
The former always seemed more likely since the Danvers were introduced much later (2016) in the comics, and Krumholtz has now taken to social media to confirm that he is indeed set to play Zor-El.
"I was that kid. Overflowing drawers full of comics… escaping into worlds unknown… imagining myself having powers that would benefit the greater good. Though we still haven't had an official announcement, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is now filming in London, and THR has shared the news of two late casting additions.
David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) and Emily Beecham (Into The Badlands) have joined the production as Kara Zor-El's parents, Zor-El and Alura In-Ze.
Update: The original report only mentions that Beecham and Krumholtz are playing "Supergirl's parents," so there's a chance they have actually been cast as Kara's human adoptive parents, Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers.
The trade has also confirmed that Milly Alcock will make her Dcu debut as the Girl of Steel in James Gunn's Superman.
While speaking to Omelette.com in a recent interview, Gunn said he had no intention of making Kara Zor-El's solo outing the second Dcu film until he read the script by actress and playwright Ana Nogueira.
