    • Erich Schellow was born on February 27, 1915 in Berlin, Germany. He was an actor, known for Le Capitaine de Köpenick (1956), Hotel Adlon (1955) and Das Jahrhundert der Chirurgen (1972). He was married to Elke von Klopmann. He died on November 25, 1995 in Berlin, Germany.

Trivia

  • Early in his career, Schellow worked occasionally as a dubbing actor. For example, he supplied the German voice for Peter Cushing.
  • Played Conan Doyle's famous detective in Sherlock Holmes (1967) and was made an honorary member of the German Sherlock Holmes Society (Deutsche Sherlock-Holmes-Gesellschaft).
  • Went into acting in 1935 on the advice of Lola Müthel and was trained at the acting school of the Preußischen Staatstheater in Berlin. Made his debut two years later as "Mortimer" in Schillers "Maria Stuart" at the Deutschen Volkstheater in Hamburg. Much praised for his roles on the classical stage. Appearances on screen relatively sparse.
