Andrew Scarborough is known for his starring roles in "Downton Abbey" , "The War Below "Hearts and Bones". He was born in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. He had a classical training in acting at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London where he studied the works of Shakespeare , Chekhov, Ibsen and many other famous playwrights.

Andrew was expelled from Harrogate Grammar School for not turning up for lessons. He says he hated school and often played truant.It was his father who suggested him being an actor remembering how good he was as a 7 year old playing King Herod in a school nativity play and vetoing his other job choices as being too lazy to get up early so the army was no good and he couldn't draw so being an artist was out of the question
