Nag Ashwin’s Indian sci-fi blockbuster “Kalki 2898 Ad” is charting a course for international waters, with Russia and Japan next on its releasing itinerary.

The film is set to release in Japan in early 2025 through Twin, the distribution company headed by industry veteran Kabata Keizo. Twin previously released S.S. Rajamouli’s “Rrr” in Japan, where it became the highest grossing Indian film of all time.

Written by Ed Solomon and directed by Steven Soderbergh, “Jared’s Body” divulges more about Nicky (Lucian Zanes) and his connection to the Brownes, while “Safe in the Circle” peels away at the link between the McCusker and Mahabir families.

Mumbai, May 15 (Ians) Actor Deepak Dobriyal may be a stellar performer but he was dropped from a role in the recently released streaming series ‘Saas Bahu aur Flamingo’ which tells the story of a drug empire run by women with a powerful matriarch at the helm of affairs.

In the series, Deepak plays the role of Monk, deadly opponent to Dimple Kapadia’s character of a drug lord. However, Deepak was considered for some other role by director Homi Adajania, who later decided to cast him as the anti-hero nemesis to the protagonist.

Mumbai, May 3 (Ians) It has been over three decades to Anil Kapoor’s iconic dialogue ‘jhakaas’ as his film ‘Yudh’ has clocked 38 years in Hindi cinema.

Anil took to Twitter, where he shared a slew of stills from the film, which marked the directorial debut of producer Gulshan Rai’s son Rajiv Rai in 1985.

He wrote: “38 Years of #Yudh and 38 years since #Jhakassss came into our lives and never left! ?? I always remember #Yudh very fondly for so many reasons! Working with the producer Gulshan Rai and his son Rajiv was a pleasure, Tina Munim was a fabulous costar and Jackie was, as always, a blast!”

Anil shared that he also loved working with Nutan because “she was always so warm and caring, she reminded me of my own mother.”

Talking about the show’s story, Vikram said, “The story depicts two gangs of drug dealers out of which one gang is headed by Savitri (played by Dimple Kapadia) compromising her bahus and the another gang headed by Deepak Dobriyal of which I’m a part of. So I basically work for him along with my brother. That’s all I can say for now. I bagged this role through an audition by Casting Bay.

Actress Isha Talwar shared her experience of practicing harmonium with veteran actress Dimple Kapadia on the sets of ‘Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo’. Isha said: “The silliest thing I think I did around Dimple was to take my harmonium to her room and practise the Sargam. I am not an expert and also, I usually practice alone because it’s the safest option. But when Dimple discovered the harmonium, I played the basics for her in her room and we practiced like little children do.”

Saas Bahu aur Flamingo’ director Homi Adajania shared his shooting experience with actress Angira Dhar and recalled an incident where while filming a love-making scene in the web show, she injured actors on the sets and could have even killed one of them!

He said: “Angira gave a couple of people some injuries, she almost killed one of our co-actors. We were doing a very aesthetic and beautiful lovemaking scene and Angira’s nose clip fell into the co-actor’s mouth and he was handcuffed.”

Hyderabad, Jan 27 (Ians) Veteran actress Jamuna passed away here on Friday after a brief illness. She was 86.

She breathed her last at her residence, family sources said.

Jamuna, who acted in about 200 movies in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi, is survived by a son and a daughter.

She was born at Hampi in Karnataka on August 30, 1936, but her parents Nippani Srinivasa Rao and Kowsalya Devi moved to Andhra Pradesh. She received her primary education at Duggirala in Guntur district and was a stage artist in her school days.

Jamuna, whose real name was Jana Bai, made her acting debut at the age of 16 with Puttillu (1953) directed by Garikapari Rajarao.
