  • Father, with Beverly Adams, of Catya Sassoon (1968-2002); Oley Sassone; Eden Sassoon (born in 1973); Elan Sassoon (born in 1970) and David Sassoon.
  • He founded the Vidal Sassoon International Study for Anti-Semitism. He fought for Israel in the Arab-Israeli War in 1948. During World War II, he was a member of the 43 Group, a Jewish veterans militia organization that broke up fascist meetings in East London, England.

He served as an Honorary Governor of the Hebrew University's International Board of Governors and as Honorary Vice President of the National American Friends of Hebrew University and as President Emeritus of American Friends of Hebrew University's Western Region.
  • He is credited with pioneering the "bob" hairstyle popularized by Mia Farrow and Mary Quant, etc.
