Exclusive: Adam Saunders and his Footprint Features have brought on Kyle Fong as the company’s Director of Development.

Fong joins from Blue Marble Pictures, where he served as Director, Content Development & Strategy, working on the Peabody Award-winning Apple TV+ drama series Pachinko, based on the international bestselling novel from Min Jin Lee. His hiring is part of Footprint’s new Studio Development Fund, which will expand the company’s ability to acquire and develop top-tier content for studios and streamers. Though Footprint will continue to produce and develop dynamic projects in the indie space, the new initiative will provide the company greater resources to expand beyond that sphere and prioritize developing studio content.

Exclusive: Fivel Stewart (The Recruit) has signed on to star opposite Acoryé White in Bellmount, an action thriller that White will also direct, in his second outing behind the camera, from his own script.

The film heading into production later this year follows Chase and Hayley, a young couple living a simple lifestyle in a remote cabin, who encounter a group of sadistic robbers after a money heist goes awry. As the two worlds collide, everyone must fight for their lives to survive the night.

20th Century Studios has unveiled the poster and trailer for their supernatural comedy Darby and the Dead, which is set to be released through the Hulu streaming service in the U.S. on December 2nd. Writer/director James Gray’s Armageddon Time will open the 2022 San Diego International Film Festival on October 19th and writer/director Sam Mendes’ Empire of Light has been selected as the festival’s closing night film. The 21st annual SDiFF’s lineup will also include the San Diego premiere of Taurus as well as screenings of Close, Good Night Oppy, and The Banshees of Inisherin.

This year’s festival will honor Taurus star Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly) with the Spotlight Award. Producer Steve Jaggi is convinced audiences are hankering for films with positive, joyful themes, an antidote to the dark subjects often favoured by filmmakers.

Putting his money where his mouth is, Jaggi launched The Incubator last year through his Indefatigable Pictures banner to develop and produce life-affirming films.

Even if all the Wall Street stock trading lingo was a little hard to follow at times, and there were some glaring nudges at the Occupy movement, this episode proved that Person Of Interest (TV) is masterful at weaving over-arching plots together for some loyal viewer payoffs. Because while this episode is written around a Wall Street hot shot with a conscience, the ending ties into a couple of former episodes *and* brings back an old foe. Finch (Michael Emerson) is truly a jack of all trades in his own right, and even dabbles in some suit tailoring! Because while Reese's (James Caviezel) every-day crime fighting suit is okay, it's not Wall Street chic. And of course, when Reese cleans up, he cleans up *well*. Yowza. I'd been wondering when Person of Interest was going to bring back criminal mob boss, Elias.

It's exciting because it reignites the possibility of Reese and Finch's larger enemy. The seeds have certainly been planted for a variety of bad guys - from the elusive Root to Reese's CIA hunters - but Elias set the stage for the bigger recurring problem. Does that mean that the show will delve deeper into Elias' character and his own story arc or will we not get to see him for another few episodes?

As is the case most weeks, the endings have really given that kick that adds to the show's excitement, and seeing Elias with a perfect grin on his face was a fantastic way to conclude the hour.
