Image
Ayelet Zurer originated the role of Vanessa Fisk in Netflix’s Daredevil series, but when Marvel/Disney+ rebooted the series with Daredevil: Born Again, she was originally recast.

Sandrine Holt took over the role, before Ayelet was quietly added back and Sandrine was no longer involved.

Now, Ayelet is speaking out about the big change that happened.

“I never really quite understood why they made that decision to not keep not just me but more almost all the actors but [Wilson Fisk actor Vincent D’Onofrio] and [Daredevil actor Charlie Cox]. But I can say that when they did change the creative and decided to go back to the original cast, I was very, very happy to join. Because I really like that character, and I thought there was so much more to explore with her,” Ayelet told TV Line.

She added she’s “not...

‘The Au Pair’ Recap & Ending Explained: Did Zoe And Stephanie Reconcile?
Image
Teenage pregnancy is an under-discussed yet highly contentious topic—the fear of social stigma, parental involvement, and concerns regarding childcare responsibilities are just some of the issues that come up in the course of any discourse on this subject. Given the present world scenario, where, caught in the ire of pro-life delusions, women have to literally fight for their right to bodily freedom and their rights as caregivers to their child, it goes beyond saying that the subject of teenage pregnancy opens up a can of proverbial worms. British miniseries, The Au Pair, deals with this matter and also integrates topical issues like medical corruption and human trafficking to shed light on real-life problems. The four-episode miniseries moves with a rapid pace, initially establishing itself as an identity thriller, only to reveal much sinister central crisis hidden underneath.

Spoilers Ahead

Why Did Stephanie Want to Ruin Zoe’s Life?

‘Finally’ Review: Claude Lelouch’s Bizarre Male-Crisis Comedy Feels Like a Farewell
Image
Five years ago, French writer-director Claude Lelouch returned, for the second time, to the site of his greatest career success with “The Best Years of a Life,” an autumnal sequel to his trend-setting 1966 romance “A Man and a Woman” that felt elegiac in multiple senses — not least since it turned out to be the final onscreen appearance for both its stars, Jean-Louis Trintignant and Anouk Aimée. Anyone who assumed it might be Lelouch’s sign-off, however, was quite mistaken. He’s made three features since, the latest of which, “Finally,” seems fashioned from its title down as a sort of career summation from the 86-year-old filmmaker, but not portentously so. A peculiar, weightless confection that bounces antically between narratives, perspectives, periods and varying grips on reality, it treats even grave mortal matters with near-cartoonish buoyancy.

Premiering out of competition at the Venice Film Festival, accompanying a career-achievement award presentation to Lelouch,...

Daredevil: Born Again Rumored to Have Written Out a Major Character
Image
Daredevil: Born Again received a creative overhaul while production was paused during the 2023 Hollywood strikes. While the creative reset brought Netflix's Daredevil into the official Marvel Cinematic Universe canon, it may have resulted in several actors being quietly written out of the upcoming Disney+ series.

After set photos revealed that Ayelet Zurer would be returning to the role of Vanessa Fisk for Daredevil: Born Again after having initially been replaced by Sandrine Holt, a Marvel fan shared that there had been signs months prior about Holt being replaced. In a post on X, user @RayyanTCG wrote, "So in December I noticed Sandrine Holt and Nikki M. James (New Vanessa and Kirsten McDuffie) deleted their Instagram posts announcing their #DaredevilBornAgain casting. Hoped it meant nothing, but Sandrine is gone now, and looks like they may have written Kirsten McDuffie out too." Marvel Studios has yet to address these rumors, and until the company does,...
