Anders Sandberg was born into a famous Danish family of film people as the only son of the Cinema chain owner, film producer, film distributor and globetrotter, Henrik Sandberg and grandson of the famous silent movies' director, A.W. Sandberg.

Since childhood Anders joined his father on the sets of more than 40 Danish 'Soldier buddies' and other classic romantic comedies produced in the fifties, sixties and seventies.

Following the liberation of the Danish censorship laws in 1969 it seemed like a great idea to test the opportunities in the marketplace, so in 1972 Sandberg produced the erotic 'Carry-on-type' comedy Bordellet (Bordello), followed by the now classic 'Sign-comedies' I Tyrens Tegn (In the Sign of the Taurus, 1974), I Tvillingernes Tegn (In the Sign of the Gemini, 1975), I Loevens Tegn (In the Sign of the Lion, 1976), Agent 69 Jensen i Skorpionens Tegn (Agent 69 in the Sign of Scorpio, 1977) and Agent 69 Jensen i Skyttens Tegn (Agent 69 Jensen in the Sign of Sagittarius, 1978). Following their theatrical success, the film series became one of the best selling home entertainment film series ever in Scandinavia on Video/DVD and are sold successfully to this day.

By the end of the seventies, Sandberg was an executive in the family film dynasty, now producing films, acquiring film rights, distributing films and owning the biggest chain of cinemas in Denmark.

Following the latest trend, the Sandberg family made an innovative decision and built the two first multiplex cinemas in Scandinavia, ABCinema and Cinema 1-8 with four and eight screens, respectively. The concept became an overnight success and was a huge commercial success in the following years.

I 1983 the whole Sandberg Group, incl. the cinemas was acquired by Nordisk Film, in which Anders Sandberg took position as a board member, as well as an acquisitions- and business development consultant to the management, a position he held until 1991.

Since then, Sandberg has worked as a business consultant for a number of international companies and since 2007 he has actively devoted much of his time to the feature film project, tentatively named 'Those who Dare', about the Danish Victoria Cross recipient and war hero, Anders Lassen, who served under Lord Earl Jellicoe in the British special Forces SAS/SBS between 1941 and to his death in 1945.

Sandberg has been a permanent British resident with his family in Maidenhead outside London since 1982.
