‘La Exorcista,’ Starring Maria Evoli, Begins Shooting, Backed by Btf Media and Morbido Group (Exclusive)
Image
Latin American powerhouse Btf Media and Mexico’s Morbido Group have initiated principal photography in Mexico City on “La Exorcista,” a new feature hailing from famed genre director Adrían García Bogliano and starring María Evoli.

The film marks another expansive move by Btf as it drivbes into feature film production, building on its roster of high-level series such as “Hasta que te conocí” and “El César.” “La Exorcista” also represents Evoli’s highest-profile starring role since she burst onto the scene five years ago in Emiliano Rocha Minter’s “We Are the Flesh,” which was endorsed by Alejandro González Iñarritu and Alfonso Cuarón.

“La Exorcista” is directed by the versatile Bogliano, a founding father of the modern Argentine horror scene. His more recent features include “Here Comes The Devil” (2012), “Night of The Wolf” (2014), and “Juega Conmigo” (2021). Bogliano wrote the screenplay along with Christian Cueva and Ricardo Farías (“La Culpa es...

Image
On Thursday, Telemundo released its first behind-the-scenes look at “Malverde: El Santo Patrón” (“Malverde: The Patron Saint”), the ambitious upcoming series starring Latin Grammy Award winner Pedro Fernández and Mexican actor Carolina Miranda.

“Malverde: El Santo Patrón” follows a boy, born in Sinaloa, Mexico, in 1870, who will ultimately become a legendary figure and a religious icon. Malverde becomes a protector of the people, as well as the innocent, the poor and the dispossessed.

The above clip reveals what the 215,000 square-foot backlot built atop Mexican national park Cumbres del Ajusco looked like before and after, and what it took to recreate the world of the iconic Mexican character, set in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The town of San Blas de Baca consists of 11 buildings with 77 sets, designed by Telemundo’s Valeria Fińana and award-winning production designer Gloria Carrasco.

“To tell such an iconic story like ‘Malverde,’ we had to...

Jealous Man Punishes Ex-Wife By Squeezing Daughter, 2, To Death
A Washington man has been charged with murder for squeezing his 2-year-old to death. After killing Daveena, his little girl, Salvador Sanchez-Orozco called 9-1-1 and attempted to commit suicide. On Feb. 13, Salvador pleaded not guilty to killing his own daughter.

Salvador Sanchez-Orozco, 26, killed his unsuspecting 2-year-old daughter Daveena by squeezing her until she stopped breathing, reports the UK’s Daily Mail. Now, Salvador claims he did it to punish his ex-wife, Faye, after showing up at her apartment unexpectedly on Feb. 11 and finding another man there. The next day he showed up unexpectedly again to pick up Daveena, and was allowed to do so because the family did not see him as a threat to the little girl. How tragic.

The new couple have been airing their love for each other on their Twitter pages, with terms of endearment like "sweet Sal" and kissing photos posted on their accounts.

In November 2011, Suvari split from her ex-husband, concert producer Simone Sestito. The pair had been married for two years. Suvari has been married once before that, to cinematographer Robert Brinkman.
