    • Angela Salloker was born on March 5, 1913 in Moschganzen/Moskanjci, Styria, Austria-Hungary [now Moskanjci, Slovenia]. She was an actress, known for Das Mädchen Johanna (1935), Gespenster (1966) and John Gabriel Borkman (1967). She was married to Armin Dahlen. She died on January 3, 2006 in Graz, Styria, Austria.

  • Provided the German dubbing voice for Bette Davis, Alexis Smith and Jean Arthur.
  • Austrian leading actress, privately tutored in Graz under Lori Weiser and on stage from 1928. Her career was primarily devoted to classical theatre. She also starred in a few films of the 1930's (including as Joan of Arc in the opulent period drama Das Mädchen Johanna (1935)). Extensive stage experience, including at the Deutschen Theater in Berlin, the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and the Burgtheater and Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna.
  • During wartime she retired completely from the film business and appeared only on stages. The situation didn't change a lot after the war.
  • She made her film debut in 1934 with the movies "Der schwarze Walfisch" (1934) and "Hohe Schule" (1934). One year later followed her cinematical height when she impersonated the title role in the movie "Das Mädchen Johanna" (1935). The film was produced with a unique pool of star players. Despite her great success she concentrated to the theater, the film played only an unimportant role in her career.
  • The actress Angela Salloker came already in contact with the theater when she still went to school, where she acted in some school performances. Later she took acting lessons bei Lori Weiser and was occupied at the Grazer Stadttheater in 1928 where she got her first contract at the age of 16.
