    • Leonard Sachs was born on September 26, 1909 in Roodeport, Transvaal, South Africa. He was an actor and director, known for Opération Tonnerre (1965), Coronation Street (1960) and La Revanche de Robin des Bois (1954). He was married to Eleanor Summerfield. He died on June 15, 1990 in Westminster, London, England, UK.

Trivia

  • He and his wife were poles apart in their political support, so they agreed to differ. As a result, each election the windows on the left side of their home in west London, England were adorned with "Vote Labour" posters and the right hand side with "Vote Conservative".
  • Best known as the chairman of the music hall in the long-running TV series "The Good Old Days" (1953 -83). His relish in enunciating complex, polysyllabic introductions to the various acts was much imitated; he had begun doing this in small London theatres in the 1930s.
