A new drama is coming! According to the latest reports, Jung Eun Chae and Lee Na Young have received offers to lead an upcoming drama titled Honor. It will revolve around the story of three lawyers, set in the backdrop of a mystery thriller. The actresses’ agencies affirmed that they are currently reviewing the casting offers but haven’t decided yet. If both of them decide to appear in this drama, this will mark their first collaboration ever.

Prime Video Nordics Strikes Nordisk Film Movie Deal And Pushes Into Local Unscripted Originals With ‘Lol’ Remake And Reality Formats

Prime Video Nordics is pushing heavily into the Scandinavian unscripted originals market, unveiling a handful of reality shows at a splashy event in Sweden today. The streamer has also struck a multi-territory movie output deal with Nordisk Film for the likes of John Wick: Chapter 4 and The Hunger Games prequel, we can reveal.

Last week, Amazon Studios execs were out in force at Mipcom striking deals and today at a star-studded Prime Video Presents event in Stockholm’s Hotel At Six, where it revealed a Swedish version of Prime Video reality format Lol: Last One Standing, along with Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and Finnish versions of new commissions Pranked, Good Luck Guys and Sweathearts. This brings its local originals slate to a total of 18, including the previously announced competition series The Bridge and scripted comedy series Toppen.

Amazon Prime Video Sets 18 New Local Productions in the Nordics

Amazon Prime Video has unveiled 18 new local productions in the Nordics as well as a multi-territory Nordisk Film movie deal.

The news was announced at a Prime Video Presents event today (Oct. 27) in Stockholm attended by Prime Video’s head of Nordic originals, Karin Lindström, head of Nordic content, Andreas Hjertø and an array of talent from some of the upcoming productions.

Among the new unscripted shows announced were “Lol: Last One Laughing,” a competitive game show with comedians (pictured above) hosted by Eva Röse, “Pranked,” a hidden-camera, practical-joke celebrity series, dating show “Sweethearts” and “Good Luck Guys,” which takes a bunch of influencers and reality stars out to see how they survive in rural Thailand.

The event in Stockholm also offered the audience a sneak peek at scripted comedy series “Toppen” and iconic reality competition “The Bridge.”

Nent Group’s Viaplay Original ‘Honour’ Returning For Third Season

Exclusive: Nordic Entertainment Group (Nent Group) is set to debut a third season of its female-led crime drama series Honour on its Viaplay streaming service in 2022. Filming is set to start this autumn.

One of the most viewed Viaplay Originals so far, the drama has already been sold in 60 territories worldwide with four remakes in development.

A terrorist act connected to the Incel (‘involuntarily celibate’) subculture is the opener to the new season of Honour, in which the four partners of Stockholm law firm Heder (Honour) face unprecedented personal risks and ethical dilemmas. Their commitment to defending women’s rights and society’s most exploited people is stronger than ever but can their ideals survive.

Nordic talents returning for the series as leads and exec producers include Alexandra Rapaport (Gåsmamman), Eva Röse (Locked Down), Anja Lundqvist (Together) and Julia Dufvenius (Modus). Director will be Joakim Eliasson and producer is Bigster.

Film industry must challenge power structures, invest more in female voices, say experts
”We have to talk about power and money.”

The next steps for gender equality in film will have to include challenging traditional power structures and investing more in female voices, the experts said at the Take Two: Next moves for #MeToo seminar organized by the Swedish Film Institute in Cannes on Sunday.

Addressing the money part of the equation, Anna Serner, CEO of the Swedish Film Institute, made the threat that if the Sfi’s market funding, for its most commercial projects, doesn’t go to any female directors/producers in 2019, then in 2020 all that money will be allocated for women only.

10 European actors to be celebrated by Efp in Berlin.

The UK’s Maisie Williams and Denmark’s Joachim Fjelstrup are among ten European acting talents to watch who have been selected for the line-up of European Film Promotion’s (Efp) Shooting Stars showcase at the 65th Berlinale (Feb 5-15).

An international jury of film professionals comprising Slovenian producer Danijel Hocevar, Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska, Swedish actress Eva Röse, UK film journalist Damon Wise, and French casting director Nathalie Cheron made its selection of six actresses and four actors from 23 nominations submitted by Efp member organisations.

The line-up for the 18th edition of Shooting Stars - with their nominated films - is as follows:

- Denmark: Joachim Fjelstrup (Itsi Bitsi)

- Finland: Emmi Parviainen (The Princess Of Egypt)

- Germany: Jannis Niewöhner (Sapphire Blue)
