Darla Rothman
Darla is as they say in her State truly "Minnesota Nice." Growing up in Duluth-a community that breeds great artists-has influenced Darla creatively and gained her a reputation in the press as "The Bob Dylan of filmmaking."

She began her career in the industry as a model. After winning an international modeling competition, she spent two successful years on the catwalks of New York, which led to her landing a national print campaign as the prestigious Wella Girl.

With a vision to pursue her passion for writing, film and television, Darla returned home to attend The University of Minnesota where she earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She soon became involved in Community theatre and commercial acting which lead her to independent films, major motion pictures and professional theatre.

Darla has played several leading roles in independent films such as The Last Kennedy, Staring At Headlights, Circles, Nuada, as well as bit parts in major motion pictures such as The Terminal, Message In A Bottle, Drop Dead Gorgeous and Herman USA.

Her most memorable experience was performing in professional theater at the renowned Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. There she played roles in "Julius Caesar" and "A School For Scandal," which enabled her to study under Chief Artistic Director, Joe Dowling and visiting director of The Royal Shakespeare Company of London, Sir Peter Hall.

In 2003 Darla took her skills to the next level and started her own production company geared towards making artistically sound digital feature films. Under the label of Artist Moon Films, Darla and partner Richard Culver crafted their first feature together entitled The Last Kennedy. This was Darla's first film as a Writer, Producer, Director, Editor and Cinematographer. The Last Kennedy had a successful film festival run and secured distribution with Echelon Entertainment in 2004.

Multi-talented, Darla wrote, produced and directed the comedic short film, Step Sisters, which won her "The Maven Award" for female achievement in filmmaking. She spent the next couple years co-writing a series of screenplays including: a horror/thriller "Pentagram," a dramatic love story "Tapestry," a comedy/drama "Silver Rainbow" and an animation/fantasy "Icarus". Her newest screenplay, the teen drama "Hold 'Em", is in development and slated for pre-production in the Summer of 2006.

Wearing many hats has become Darla's trademark. In 2004 she teamed up with Skyway Productions as a Producer on two feature films, Fish Without A Bicycle and The Third Wish, which opened theatrically in October of 2004 and April of 2005 to great success. Darla has become a creative force in the Skyway family incorporating her many talents including writing, cinematography, editing and graphic design. She continues to act and independently produce other features under the guise of Artist Moon while offering her services to Skyway. Darla's newest venture is the upcoming horror/thriller, Game Over, where she is teaming up with Emmy Award winning director Shelley Jensen and Technicolor's President of Post Production, Richard Andrews.
